SS is not just the routine. It's a whole book with dietary guidelines. If you're eating at a deficit you're not doing the program and won't be adding weight to your lifts every time which is an essential part of it.

I don't even recommend SS for most people but you got to at least know something about the fuckin' program if you're ostensibly "doing it", breh.

This is true because SS is intented for linear progression and you need to eat to recover. That being said, I'm doing SS on a deficit, stalling on 265 squat so the progression is more weekly than daily. But it's working for now and I'm not pissed off for not having a daily progress on weights.

I am coming more and more to the conclusion that genetics determine the bulk of your success when compared to other people.

Having said that there are things you can do to optimize your training that make ALL the difference. Like being intelligent enough to go by total volume than exercise load regardless of your goals and implementing functional overreach and deloads correctly. Most of the advice on the Internet works because most programs regardless of reasoning accidentally implement correct training principles at least some of the time. Like increasing weight while staying at same rep-set scheme = Increase in total volume.

But still that might make you end up at X while another guy that does some completely retarded shitroutine ends up at X times 10 (to justify why I wrote down my first sentence)

Started SS at the start of year 9, when I was 14 and 3 months. 5'10, 65kg 10% bodyfat. 8 months later age 14, 5'10 82kg 14% bodyfat, 160kg 3x5 bench 170kg 3x5 deadlift 90kg 3x5 bench, 55kg 3x5 overhead press. Then I did PPL to bring up lagging parts that weren't hit enough with SS, such as biceps, then I did a small cut down to 10% bodyfat. By this time I just turned 15, and was 77kg, 5'10, ripped as fuck.

SS really does work.

His narrow shoulders bring the whole physique down by quite a lot. If his shoulders had a broader bone structure and his waist thinner he would look decent.
