Autistic reasons why you started lifting
I wanted to be big and strong like
>tfw only 6'
I too started lifting because I was inspired by the Spartans from Halo. Especially with the new Spartan IVs, I feel like if I train hard enough, I too can attain Spartan-mode.
>Tfw only 5'9"
>Tfw starting out hungry skeleton
>Tfw I will never get access to super space steroids and Mjolnir armor to triple my strength
>Tfw I will never be a hero
I wanted to be able to endure unfathomable hardship like Isaac Clarke.
I wanted to be a super hero when I was a kid.
Now I want to be strong enough that I'm not disgusted with myself when I look in the mirror.
>you'll never have forearms like WoW humans
My family has a history of poor health on my Dad's side. Diabetes, kidney stones, stroke and various other problems.
I intend to build my body to last, altering my genes that I will pass on to create a stronger generation, as well as alter my destiny as a weak bedridden pile of excuses.
Also for her.
i wanted to climb shit like Sony fortune hunter man
>tfw your genetics will never be as good as Garrosh's
this guy was my idol as a kid
I wanted to be the mysterious guy who clearly lifts but you can't tell because he doesn't flaunt it. he doesn't give a fuck about you
...but then the fedora tipping meme ruined him for me cos he's le katana and le long coat
you can enjoy characters like that without thinking "I must buy a katana and trenchcoat and I'll look like him," I never thought like that. I thought "I want to be a strong and stoic badass"
Same thing with fedoras. You can enjoy Mad Men without thinking "I must dress exactly like them"
>forgot the picture
Hang on l'm gonna kill myself
Yeah that'd be the first one I did probably, I'm not big enough yet and my greatest fear is to get overconfident and be that skinnyfat faggot walking around shirtless so I'm gonna keep working for a long while, but I have hope.
>>tfw you imagine drills in your hip drive on the last rep
I wanted to be as intimidating as The Hound, with the side effect of being able to eat a shitload of chicken
>tfw only 6'3" instead of 6'6"
>tfw goals ruined
>used to read Drizzt D'urden books
>use to aspire to Drizzts whirring blades hand speed
>Bruenors resilience and iron will
>Wulfgars strength that verily denied such Daemons such as Errtu final revenge and carried the limp form of his dwarven father and halfling friend Regis under both arms as an army of stinking trolls clutched at him left and right barring his passage and yet with indomitable strength and a song on his lips he just kept lifting though wretched creatures clutched at his flesh seeking to rip him and his friends from dear life he ran on. And though he reached the edge of the dreadful bog his heart sank. before him stood a final line of trolls 10 deep. and yet as his heart sank he reached into his will for one final push and roared his challenge and broke free of the evils that sought to bring his story to a close.
That part of the story got me past many a moment when i thought i couldn't go on. And though i found the dark elf super cool Wulfgar Son of Beorngar was my inspiration to lift heavy.
I lift so I'll be able to protect her...
just trying to raise my power level
So Spartan I's were guys like the sergeant in the Halo trilogy, Spartan II's were like Jorge and the John, Spartan III's were the rest of noble team.
The fuck are Spartan IV's? I was under the impression Spartan III's were already seriously watered down versions of II's
Spartan IIIs were actually better than IIs except they gave them cheaper shittier armor. Noble team had good armor like the IIs because they were a special forces team.
IVs are when they decided to open up Spartan training to random adults, so they're shit.
Spartan IVs were a waste of space and story. They could have seriously fleshed out the ODST characters more. They didn't really make much sense in the Halo storyline either. The UNSC spent loads of money on things they didn't need. Follow the ODST path. No enhancements, just beast.
You're one of the people you find in the games who killed themselves rather than face the horror. Dead Space is by necessity about that one person who could keep walking forward.
Inside the gym I want achieve Super Saiyan II
Outside the gym I am Johnny Bravo
The CGI film gave me the goal body to work towards.
The legend (the version I have is the story itself translated by Seamus Heaney) gave me the motivation and drive. I mean, killing Grendel with your bare fucking hands? Badass.
Because I am tall already and want to be buff enough to cosplay Samus as she was meant to be.
A tall buff amazon.
Mk I: few volunteers getting some buffs
Mk II: 150 children selected, 75 abducted, 33 made it to be THE best soldiers of the UNSC, they were the strongest, the fastest and the smartest, yet the unluckest.
Mk III: cheap, anger, disposable, inferior of S: II's but made up for it in numbers but both are incomparable as they had different goals. Mk: III Spartans also however if given time to grow up and gain experience could be comparable to a Mk: III its just a miracle if they live long enough
MK IV: remains of gamma company MK: III's and other soldiers getting a version of the MK:2 treatment but not the raising and mind warping as such
After being fairly athletic in my teens and in the army, I managed to fall into that early 20's trap and became a smoldering sack of ruin and decay for several years.
Then at around 24 when visiting folks I realized my semi-pro dancer little sister has hella mirable form and definition and I decided I can't lose to her. This is literally the reason.
Still not as ebin as my m8, who started lifting after losing to his gf in arm-wrestling. Poor fag tried to make all sorts of excuses first, but at least he was man enough to step up his game and finally make it.
>become my own fap material
good taste my nigga
True, but for regular guys like me, they are a physical, if not attitude, ideal I can aspire towards. Remember, the Spartan IIs all had top-tier genetics, and they received enhancements at the onset of puberty and have trained since childhood. The Spartan IVs were average joes who trained until they were the best, and then took it to the next level.
Even if the Spartan IVs are an inferior class of Spartans, they represent the best that a normal person can achieve in the Halo universe.
I wanted to be able to do shit like in Assassin's Creed (free run and be nimble and agile) this was in like 8th grade mind you. My friends made fun of me for wanting that and for being a chubby cunt so I ended up giving up. Now I'm trying to start lifting again just so I don't feel disgusting when I look in a mirror or go in public.
tfw setting vegetas training scene and while hes stuck in a nightmare facing future trunks and kakarott, best noob gains ive ever had as a kid.
>16 years later, still at it and never taken a longer break than 2 months
still playing the most autist infected game in the world 3-4 xpacks later it served its death sentence after wotlk and became a beginners rtard friendly home to compensate for how much of a losers they are in real life
Master chief was MIA for four years. A lot of shit happened in four years. For her, Master Chief may have been a legend however because of that he is also a threat to the current established authority. That is a big faux pas in any military. This explains why she would've been a dick to the greatest badass to ever have been created. She wasn't sarcastic, she was afraid of him.
I literally started lifting a second time becasue of this fucker.
In the manga theres a part where 100's of innocent people die. Guts shows up and kills the demon. Not giving a fuck about the innocent lives lost. An old man appears and says "You were unable to save all these people." Guts looks at this old dude with no sympathy and says "If they were strong, they wouldn't have died."
Guts is probably the coolest fictional motherfucker ever.
The manga kicks ass. I might reread it soon. I didn't really like the new movies that came out but the old anime was pretty good.
Griffith is a lil bitch.
Spartan III's had the same augmentations except something extra on their frontal lobes to prevent them from going into shock and makes them more aggressive. Had pretty much the same training too from when they were kids. They just weren't kidnapped, they were already orphans.
I bought an AR-15 and was Auschwitz mode. I did not want to be a skinny lanklet with a gun.
>tfw just hit 200lbs
>tfw when you try to overcompensate so hard that you put all of you weapons on your table while you eat breakfast and accidentally end up shooting the mail man in the left testicle while he tries to deliver you 19 inch dragon cock that you ordered because /fit/ and /b/ has turned you into half a faggot
You cannot alter your genes so forget that shit.
You can alter YOURSELF and live a good life inspirational to others.
Breeding when you have medical issues is incredibly cruel to your offspring. If you breed you might as well tell them the truth, that they exist to amuse your vanity and you could never value them as humans.
Live a moral life and a strong one. Strength includes self-denial, self-mastery, and a wise philosophy. Your call.
Surprised no one has posted this yet...
Astartes* Fucking autocorrect
I wanna be like Makunouchi Ippo
Only one in billions is selected in their youth for transformation/indoc. About 1% of those make it through the process and get their armour.
Iirc there are only about 1 million Space Marines extant in an Imperium of Man of about a million planets and trillions and trillions of humans.
wanting to be batou mode so that I can get with another fine cyber body like the major
>tfw will never be this aesthetic
I was playing Arkham city and was miring Nightwing. No Homo
I remember having a huge crush on card captor sakura and thinking why I could never have her. I saw that the male kid in the show wasnt fat and ugly so I put 2 and 2 together. Stupidest gayest reason to start but it took me down this road. That was about 10 years ago.
Back when I followed 40k (1998-2005) the 1,000,000 space marines number was a pretty established piece of canon. It might fluctuate by a few hundred thousand because of chapters that don't adhere strictly to the Codex Astartes, but the 1,000,000-planet Imperium of Man and 1,000,000-strong Adeptus Astartes to defend them was a thing that is very frequently brought up in the codices, fluff and Black Library novels I've read.
Oops, I meant to quote you with this >>31690040 post, not myself.
But yeah, there are exactly 1000 chapters. They're each supposed to have 1000 fully-fledged Astartes, give or take, but it varies depending on whether the chapter is at low strength because of losses, or just doesn't give a fuck about Rawbutt Girlymann's rules.
So, roughly 1,000,000.
>Never heard of epigenetics
I don't think Spartan III's were better, they were made cheaper and had less chance for ending up a cripple. They were quite a bit weaker, therefore, much more disposable than the II's
This is what the Batman movies should have been:
>mfw video gamemakers make better movies than Director
Nolan's movies are 5/10 as movies and 1/10 as superhero flicks.
I wanted to make Large Leader proud. He's my muse.
MUH NIOGGA HYOMIN IS GREAT.
But Jiyeon is better.
>you will never be Ken
But current doing it for is
Almost another devil trip sigh
