This thread is about lifting for the right reason - for yourself. I lift for aesthetics, and I lift for myself.

Lifting for yourself, and NOT women, you can gaze at your own physique in the mirror like Narcissus at the pond. Sure you will have BDD, so you won't even be able to love yourself like Narcissus did, but that's not important. And sure, you can even see yourself most of the day, but you'll feel good. Or...at least you would've felt good had you lifted for health and not aesthetics, but that's not important either.

You lift for yourself because you still can't get a girl. And it needs to seem like that doesn't bother you. So lift for yourself. Or at least tell everyone you do. Then cry your creatine tears when you're alone jacking off in the mirror to a DYEL sad sack.

I know its better to eat fresh vegtables/fruit and stuff but are the vitamins in cereals good? I hear a lot that vitamins are a scam on here. I put a lot of cereal in my oats to give it some crunch and I was wondering if it gives me any benefits.

Those boxed breakfast cereal are fortified with iron and some other shit, maybe Omega 3 in the form of APA which is really inefficiently converted into EPA and DHA (like 5%, you should look this up), the dried fruits in them have shit micros, just look at the nutrition facts; commercial breakfast cereal already has oats and shit, you could make your own with oats, wheat puffs, raisins, nuts, seeds, whatever

Or eat your oats with some fruit, whether it's thawing some frozen fruit in hot oatmeal, or overnight oats

So yeah, it's a scam that varies from mildly ripped off to gouged by the Jews

I usually have oats mixed with a non-overly sweet cereal like cheerios, yogurt and bananas. If I didint fill my caloric needs for that day i'll throw in a bunch of nuts instead.

I'm trying to go to the gym and run a couple miles on the treadmill, but my Achilles heel hurts sometimes. I used to run a lot and never got this pain (maybe I'm getting older [25]). Last I forgot my running shoes and ran in some sneakers. The next day it hurt so much and I was limping so I decided to take it easy. It's been a little over a week now and still kind of hurts.

Should I risk going for a run? Any tips on how to prevent this? How should I treat it? I've iced it a couple times.

I run on an incline of 1 because I heard putting it at zero isn't effective.

Could the rowing machine substitute for my cardio?

You probably have tendinitis. Long story short, no running, cycling, etc for a few weeks. No dead-lifting, squats, leg press, or anything that will put weight on it. You might find swimming to be a tolerable alternative for cardio, and leg extension/leg curl machines for strength training. Any pain at all = stop. Better to take it easy for a while rather than risk a relatively minor issue turning into something much more severe like tendinosis or compartment syndrome.

Take ibuprofen in the mornings if you're sore. Occasional light stretching is also good. Also I found warm baths helpful but some people don't recommend that.

Different anon here, but rowing depends. It can use a lot of legs too depending on form. DESU since cycling is low impact, it may be able to be done at low intensity.

Listen to your body. Don't push yourself because you want to work out or you may permanently damage something.

/fit/ I haven't lifted seriously in years. I'm coming from drug addiction, I'm 23.

Should I do SS again? I'm back to 143 pounds again at 5'7, when at my prime I used to weigh 190 pounds and I was a football linebacker.

I still kinda have "some" muscle, like I'm not completely skelly, but I'm still thin. I tried skateboarding but I got tired of it, it's running and lifting what I really want.

First time poster here

What's the ideal diet for great health, clean looking skin and hair and of course natural weight loss? Could you list all of the foods? I had a roommate in college who told me that this diet he came up with was the best for gains/health.

Breakfast:
One apple
One banana
Two eggs

Lunch:
Grillled chicken
Rice
Green vegetables (half of the plate is filled with green)

Post workout:
Blueberries
Apple
Almonds
Protein shake

Dinner:
Sam as lunch but with onions or tomatoes (vegetable variety)

Before bed:
Walnuts
Milk

He said this is the best diet for quick gains. I'm only interested in losing weight for now because my BMI is 30. What's the ideal diet?

Does anyone know any bb voodoo to accelerate minor hand injury recovery?

Not calluses I like those

but got some missing skin (an inch or so blisters) from working with an axe, and they won't really callus over since I don't do it frequently enough

tried lifting with it and was fine until deadlift, just really hate to go light on deadlift

Is there any way (not gear) to make some level of "pump" last for an extended period of time?

I feel like if I don't lift for two days, my muscles totally deflate. What's the point of lifting at all if your muscles deflate after a few days of inactivity?
