Hey /fit/, I feel like I can rarely find my proper stance for squatting. I feel like I'm always trying to adjust it, and sometimes when I do find it and have a great session I can't seem to replicate it.
I feel part of my problem is my shoes are too good.. I have the newest reebok shoes that are like $200 but they're so solid that I can't adjust my feet at all with any kind of noticeable weight on my back.
Is there any kind of hacks/tricks to find your perfect stance? Whether that's similar to the method of finding your bench width by measuring your shoulder width and plugging it into a formula, or something like "prepare to jump and use that stance" like I've seen for deadlifts etc I would really appreciate it.

don't read too much shit don't buy all that stupid ass shit just do what feels natural and safe my dude
>>42488437

you ever heard of deadlifts bitch?
This is my second summer of hitting the gym super hard so I wanted to take a progress pic and throw it on social media. I have normie friends who do it every fucking other week but I have always tried to be humble about my gains. I have been getting a lot of mires recently and this is objectively the best shape I have ever been in. Do you guys have any suggestions for taking really good pictures? I know lighting is huge but would you recommend any particular workouts or water weight tips?
t. failed normie
If you want to look more toned don't drink a lot of water for a day -dehydrate yourself.
>>42488225
If you're only hitting it hard in the summer, you look like shit. Don't post pics.
>>42488314
I mean I started last summer so it has been a year and almost 3 months of dedicated lifting. Before that I was always making excuses and pretty spotty about it. I probably get to the gym 5/6 days of the week.
>>42488261
I read that I should drink a lot of water a few days before I take a picture then dehydrate myself the day of

>>42488202
Do you have a bench or just the dumbbells?
>>42488721
Just the dumbbells, but would any surface where I could lie down with my legs perpendicular to the floor function as a bench?
Share your feels brah
>spent 2 years working out

Best argument for abusing steroids I could ever imagine. Who else feels these feels?
Rich Piana looks disgusting op, you should know that.
I have the opposite of body dismorphia.

We all start in that phase, anon. You'll turn into me when the time comes. Steroids are the ultimate redpill when it comes to fitness
>>42488197
Yea don't you'll look like a roid freak and your body dysmorphia won't be any better
I manage mine by playing sports and running. Having a goal like running an ultramarathon, one that is mutually exclusive with being hyooge, makes me feel better about how I look in the here and now.
Also sage, not fitness related
how long did it take you to get from 135 working sets to 225 working sets?
>>42488145
on bench press that is idk how i forgot to mention that.
>>42488148
3.5 years.
Ama.
About a year, would have taken less if I had eaten correctly. Don't focus on hitting 2pl8, focus on adding 10lbs to the bar.
I went ahead and just bought some squat stands. Costway brand, $56 from Walmart, free shipping.
They're okay, not good by any means, but okay. I taped some socks on there to protect the knurling on my barbell (it's a nice York bar). It came with some weird safety bar things that pin on the bottom holes, but I deemed those useless and omitted them from the assembly.
Definitely Chinese steel box tubing. Weak material, but if I'm nice to them I believe they will withstand 3 plates and some change at least. I'll load up the 445lb I own and let you know how it goes
Oh and I bought a $10 grill cover to protects the stands, plates, and weirdly enough, my actual grill from the weather.

Me and my bro accidentally bought pre salted chicken and it had a total of 5600mg of salt in it. Are our gains forever gone? Should we just give up?
bump
Yeah you may as well just kill yourself.
>>42487589
the fuck has salt got to with gains lol? start lifting first...
/Fit/ whats your motivation to continue to lift weights?
lifting is a punishment i inflict on myself until exhaustion basically everyday to cover up the insecurities in my life and my fear of being alone.
the 2 hours i spend in my gym everyday are all i forward to during my daily life. The barbel is the only thing that understands me i just want to be able to lift more.
>>42487587
Discipline, Self Control, and maybe a bit of Masochism. I want to be in control of my own self, not a slave to hormones and genetics, and I absolutely need to keep improving. The release of a massive lactic acid buildup after pushing my limits is intoxicating.

it's probably the only thing I actually get enjoyment out of. Work, gym, and shitposting is all I do and the gym is the only thing that gives me a sense of purpose of those three.
I need to get out more
