Marathon running requires more physical and mental discipline than lifting weights and is a more impressive display of athleticism.

Used to run marathons (11 full, 3 ultra in the past 5 years, a bazillion halfs) and have shifted to weight training now for the past year. Lifting weights is so much fun compared to running. Why do I keep hearing faggots talk about lifting/gains like they're an accomplishment?

I run the half marathons in the summers - train 3 times a week but don't take it extremely seriously either. It's sunny outside and I have my iPod.
Lifting is fun because you can always try new things, and at the gym there are other people and there's more to discuss about the training.
It's both very different, but yeah, the second one has variety (and when it comes to looking good, eating healthy and lifting just a little bit suffices, running is just for your heart imho)

/fit/ convince me to go back to the gym

>Hit ottermode
>Got gf that is obsessed with me
>Friends noticed gains
>Realized I didn't want to become too big
>Stopped going
>Fast forward a year
>Lost maybe a 1/3 of my gains
>New house has gym round the corner that is literally half the price of the old one

Thinking about going again mostly because I'm not working or studying atm. Gym could kill the boredom.

But what's the end goal? To just become progressively bigger til you're a freak beast?

i know sleep deprivation is bad for your health blah blah blah, but what about in terms of fitness? i haven't been noticing gains (think I'm gaining weight) and i feel shitty all around. but college aint gonna pay for itself.

I think its easier to go from fat ass to buff, because fat fucks are used to eating a lot. But depending on how fat they were they will look less aesthetic due to extra skin. I think its harder to go from skeleton to buff but it will look better. IE zyzz

I lift for my wife-to-be. She is a cute, fit redhead, whom I love so much. We lift, run and walk together, and she makes the best food, as cooking is one of her many hobbies. With her I can discuss philosophy, theology, politics, lifting, movies and really anything, as she's the most intelligent female I've met. She is a Christian, who - unlike most women - understands the effects of certain things for society, and that's why she is a right-wing conservative nationalist, who's against immigration from 3rd world countries. I'm not posting a pic, but she's so cute and beautiful: curly, naturally red hair, a short, firm body and mezmerizing blue eyes. She's kind and polite and has a great sense of humor.

I hope to meet her one day.
