Alright /fit/, I'm finally doing it. Today I've joined the 24 hour gym down the road and I'm gong to begin an actual lifting regimen. The last 8 months I've only been dieting and doing cardio to cut fat, which has been successful, but now I'm just a somewhat flabby skinny guy.
I've reread the sticky already, and I was just hoping to get some advice on the best diet/lifting methods that will fill me out with some muscle and help continue cutting the fat I still have left so my body composition evens out. Any advice would be much appreciated

Just do any of the popular linear progression routines on the internet (SS Greyskull whatever doesnt matter) for a few months, then move onto a 5/3/1 or a Juggernaut or a Texas method or any of the intermediate routines popular on the internet. To make sure you don't get fat, just keep yoru diet reasonable like you already are.

You have that weird hour glass thing going, which looks really shitty. I have the same body type and it fucking sucks. Atm I am just dieting until I'm dead or look better, whatever comes first and I think it works. I'm starting to lose those disgusting love handles and my abs are way more visible than ever. I'm doing it for five weeks on monday (diet consists of eating one 1000 kcal meal per day, that's it). I'm not sure how much weight I lost as I don't own a scale, but I like how it changed the way I look. I was actually surprised just how much fat I had still on me, I thought it was way less. So I encourage you to lose the fat once and for all.

Has anyone tried this before?
Yesterday I was making soup and tasted a bit and it burned my tongue pretty badly. I noticed after I could hardly eat the rest of the night because it hurt so bad.
So today to achieve the same success I had yesterday I cooked up some bacon grease and spooned it on my tongue to burn it. I noticed my cravings have been pretty low today and I have no doubt I'll be eating less.
It also has helped me drink more water, as the ice water helps soothe my tongue.

Technically it's zero calories but there's some broscience going around about how artificial sweeteners activate the insulin production triggered by the sweet flavour to anticipate a sugar high.
Aside for that, it's really bad for your teeth and screws up with some mineral salts in your organism. It's ok to have one from time to time to keep the craving on check, not to substitute water.
