Does marijuana kill gains?
I've been an insomniac for 13 years. I moved to California a few months ago and finally got my medical card. I discovered a few strains that have helped me get the best night's sleep i can ever remember.
Does it effect my gains? I imagine its not as harmful as not sleeping 3 or 4 nights a week.

NON TOPKEK EDITION
I can get behind this.
Do you lads ever feel weird filming your sets? I know I used to have trepidation about pissing someone off by doing it, but it seems most people are really cool with me doing it.
Home gyms
Here's the start of mine (I'm on a budget):
>squat rack
>45 lbs. 7' Olympic barbell 600 lbs. rating
>adjustable bench
>330 lbs. of pl8's
>DB's: 2x15, 2x30, 2x40
>curl bar
>perfect pullup
Buying a pl8 tree today and a floor today. I have a nice sound system. However, I'm stucking using a corner of the living room. I use my guest bedroom and have no garage or basement.. Would love more DB's and pl8's, but for the most part running out of reasons to go to the gym.
Still go to the gym for dumbbells I don't have and machines such as the leg curls and extensions.
May as well contribute.
Thinking of converting to home gym master race for long-term economy and comfort.
Been browsing, came up with this. Looks about right to me, what do you guys think?
Small(ish) budget, will have to add to it later I think. Might have to remove the pl8 tree. It's kind of a luxury desu senpai.
>>35077211
That's about what I was going for, but with the squat rack I don't have to worry about the height of the rack. So I think I was able to maintain quality and do a bit cheaper.
I still need the pl8 tree and floor though. Nothing more annoying than having to carefully pickup pl8's from the floor and set them down between sets.
>>35077211
Oh and one more thing. Unfortunately I can't move the adjustable bench. That makes it difficult to do a couple things like military press or behind the neck press. But I can still do flyes, rear delt lateral raises, etc. without worrying about space.
how does /fit/ deal with being sick?
do you change your diet or training
doyou use medcation or home remedies?
>>35076968
I go to the doctor they give me drugs and I get better
>>35076978
sick as in colds, flu's etc
desu i think its beta as fuck to run to the doctors for every sniffle and cough
I havent been sick in years, my secret is wearing light clothes in winter
Try exposing yourself to the cold more, it worked for me in the past
Holy fucking shit, fuck you, /fit/
This is a warning not to fall for the SS troll. I did this shit for 6 months. I made large jumps in the amount of weight i moved, but very minimal size gains, but also had to deal with fucking injuries and deloads and all the nonsense? How is this more geared towards beginners?
Switch to an Upper/Lower 4 day split. Been doing this now for about 2 months. I've made more size gains in these 2 months than in 6 of SS, and I'm also getting stronger.
>use a weight till you can do 3 or 4 sets of 12
>increase the weight by 5lbs
>shoot for atleast 8 reps at this weight
>up the weight again after achieving 12 reps
>no deloading
>no calculations
>more gains
Why did i not just start with an upper/lower split. Holy fuck do not fall for the SS meme
HIP DRAHVE
I've made decent size gains across my chest legs and shoulders since I started sl
How many times do people have to tell you strength training is not for gains. It's a beginner routine so that you get used to lifts, cns gains and some strength gains.
Ironically if you would not have done SS you might have not done so well in your current program
Lads how do I develop the outer part of my calves or have I just been dealt naff genetics?
When doing calf raises, do some with your feet straight, then goes pointed out slightly, then in slightly. But yeah, genetics play a big role.
donkey calf reverse hip raise with your heels pointing out

Hands down. Why do these guys not get mentioned more? The whole squad of Mark bell, silent mike, and the supertraining guys have IMMENSE knowledge and they're strong af. Not to mention they have absolute legends on the channel pretty much every week.
>>35076715
People do not find borderline downs syndrome people interesting. Same reason only morons like Joe Rogan.
Mark "Smelly" Bell has arguably one of the best channels on youTube. Between the guests, the videos and the actual content it's unparalleled. Like when he had ed coan on for a while. I don't like silent mike so much, or his weird new bromance with Omar isuf.
>>35076715
this guy sounds dope
>you can't work out when you have eaten
What are the other myths normies mindlessly say
>You have to eat 800 meals spaced through the day to keep your metabolism running
>You only need 500 calories above your TDEE and you'll get fat if you eat any more
>You can't cut more than 500 below TDEE you'll lose all your gains
Is alcohol a good means to manage anxiety? What about insomnia? Any recommendations on what to drink? Wine? Beer?
>>35076543
Nononononononononono
No, alcohol will make your anxiety worse in the long run, and it will give you shitty sleep.
Go to a fucking doctor. Don't self-medicate with substances.

/fit/, this week I have an audition to be a group exercise instructor at my university's gym. I'll be instructing a 55 minute bootcamp class, so it's a circuit based class with a mix of cardio and strength with minimal equipment.
Design my audition class for me, /fit/.
Forget everything you know about fitness, and then put together 25 minutes of extremely low-intensity calisthenics, and then a complex with a 2-3kg dumbbell that your grandmother could do. Finish with some stretching.

perfect
Fuck it. Make it nightmare mode. DARE anyone to join you. Heavy fuckin' deadlifts and squats followed by sprints.
It's a bootcamp, show em hell OP
"Muscle dysmorphia (also known as "megarexia", "bigorexia", or "reverse anorexia nervosa") is a disorder that is characterized by a fear of being too small, and perceiving oneself as small and weak even when one is actually large and muscular"
Anyone else struggling from this? I get compliments regulary, but still feel small and miserable. Any tips to overcome this bllshit?

Boost your ego, think that you look way better than mostly people you'll encounter as they're hamplanets or skeletons.
Think also of your progress, what you looked like when you started and now.

Be a middle-aged German an do some push ups. Most Southern and Eastern German males look like this after 30 if they aren't fat.

It probably helps to have been an Olympic swimmer during his early years. Athletic foundations built while still young do a lot for later overall fitness levels.
