What was your motivation to get fit?

For me, it was being a depressed, skinny unhappy loser with serious confidence issues. i was 21 and decided i wanted to turn my life around while still being young enough to enjoy it.
I'm only one year on but things have massively changed for me. You?

For me, I wanted to stop being a fat fuck who always told myself "one more chocolate wont hurt" and the classic "I dont look too bad". I started losing weight last year around this time, I was 115kg. Now I am 83kg and still going. I havent lifted for some months now, and the lifting wasnt really serious either, just getting a workout in, and try to do it 2-3 times a week. I work out with my mates. My goal is to get under 80kgs, possibly 77kg and start to build muscles. I try to be my own inspiration and motivation, but in all seriousness, its a little hard sometimes. The motivation comes and goes. Therefore I try to make it my discipline, not to use motivation. If a former fat mate can do it, so can we all. We are all gonna make it

I think people forget that being overly skinny/weedy is just as damaging for self esteem as being fat. i was skinny (i had a pot belly from bad diet tho) and generally felt like shit. for me, i always remind myself what im working towards. i don't say i'm looking to get better looking or whatever, i say i'm looking to get strong; stronger mentally, stronger socially, stronger physically. life is so much better now and i wouldnt want to ever give up.

Anyone on /fit/ been arrested before? People like Kali became HUEG after going to prison, I'm considering getting myself arrested for a while to utilize their free gym facilities.

Depending on the state, there won't be any weights. People get big in there because of the sheer volume and intensity of their calisthenics (think 1500 pushups/day)

Who here works out every day/most days of the week? I worked legs yesterday and shoulders/back/biceps today, not sure what to work tomorrow. I usually go every other day.

I recently started supplementing with vitamin D3, vitamin K2, and a multivitamin.

I also eat leafy green vegetables almost daily.

I'm wondering if I'm overdosing certain vitamins.

On average I'm getting about 600-800% of the RDA of vitamin K through eating green vegetables. I also get an additional 6000% through supplementation.

I consistently hit over 300% of the RDA for vitamin A.

In addition my vitamin D3 supp provides 1000 IUs which is 250% of the RDA dor vitamin D.

Am I overdosing? How much is too much? Do I need to "cycle off" certain supplements occasionally?

Maybe take it down a bit if you want. I haven't seen anything about negative effects from taking too much K though

If it's beta carotene then don't worry about it. A single carrot has that much Vitamin A.

How does one achieve VISUAL effect of olympic weightlifter's physique.

I don't mean their strength levels, but more aesthetic side of their bodies.

They didn't achieve their physique just by doing clean & jerk and snatch all the time.

Sup /fit/ need some help.

I'm a dyel who benchs 135 lbs, lately I started notice my shoulders make a crack noise everytime I bench all the way down to my chest.

I read on the Internet that some people believe benching all the way down can fuck your shoulder so you should bench at 90 degrees only, so I started benching like this and realize my shoulders dont crack.

It's ok if I bench like this? or im going to get a visit from the gains goblin?
