Good IPA and pizza. Pizza is bad enough but when my favorite beer is close to 1500 calories for a six pack there is no way to look good unless I'm active for at least 8 hours a day which is unreasonable in college.

I've cut out booze and eat under my BMR and have started running and in a few days I've already noticed the beer weight melting off.

Can't really look good and be and alcoholic at the same time unless you've got genetics which keep you naturally lean, I've found. At least not without a super active lifestyle.

Hey guys, didn't see one in the catalog so I thought I'd start a Cardio General. Discuss anything cardio related here - running, jogging, swimming, cycling, rowing, etc.

Thought I'd start off asking you all a question:

So I've been into weightlifting for a few years, but am now trying to get into more serious cardio training. I played sports in high school, so I consider myself a somewhat proficient runner already, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't overdoing it. For the past few weeks, I've been running 5 days a week, sometimes 6. On Mon, Wed, Fri I try to do an hour of moderate intensity jogging, usually doing somewhere around 6 miles for the hour. On Tues, Thurs, and/or Sat I'll usually do about 2 miles after weight training, takes me around 15 minutes or so.

So I wanted to ask you guys if you think that is too much running for me to be doing in a week? I feel great so far, no issues with injuries, no unusual soreness, and I always take at least 1 day off a week. But I'm doing between 20-25 miles in a week, and for someone who is just starting to get serious about cardio, this seems like a lot. What do you all think?

Injury general

I just started doing lateral raises and i can comfortably do them with 10lb dumbbells but once i up the weight to 15lbs i feel this pain in my right anterior deltoid. It feels like im moving against(strumming?) two large rubber bands before the movement is complete.

I just bought a lacrosse ball, should i just take a week off and just try to rehabilitate myself?
