What do you know about hair loss?

Background
>I'm under stress (engineering student), anxiety and depression (no friends or family in this country).
>I eat lots of crabs to increase serotonin
>had acne til my 20's (high test and dht?)
>kissless virgin
>overweight
>used to be /fit/ back in my teens

What should I do?
Is this the right board?
Is it reversible?
I obviously will start by getting /fit/

what could this possibly be? it itches slightly but I never scratch it. it's appearing on both hands. my gf doesn't have it so it's not contagious. and anyone know what I could do against it?

people tell me it's stress related but I don't have stress right now and I've never gotten it before.

>I've been working out since I was 15 or 16, because in school I was the very skinny, flinching boy on Ritalin. If people threw a ball to me, I thought they were throwing it at me. Around 10th grade, my fresh-out-of-Vietnam-vet history teacher Mr. Pepperman said, and I quote, "Henry, you are a skinny little faggot, you need to lift weights, and I'm going to teach you how," which was more input in life than my father ever gave me. (That's just how people talked to you in those days.)

>He took me to the school gym and showed me basic compound lifts. He made me do a workout regimen and told me not to look in the mirror until he said so. I worked out from, like, October until Christmas vacation, and during the last day of exams he let me take my shirt off and look at myself. After that I threw out the Ritalin because I didn't need it, my body is telling me to work out. You're young and lifting weights, hungry, horny and you want to meet women. All of a sudden I'm eating more. My lunch tray has a line of milk, hamburgers, and I'm asking for seconds. I just got hooked and I kept doing the workout over and over again and I began to feel different because I began to get bigger.

>To me, getting muscular was the first thing I ever achieved by working at it, and it was a game changer for me, because it was the first time I ever had confidence.

You can see your own image, right? Those beta loser idiots who just finished basic training? Of course it's easy. I was army and worked in a joint service environment and air force would bitch and whine over the simplest things. Marines get a bad rap as being dumb, but at least they can move a five pound box to the next room without bellyaching about it for ten minutes first.

Why do so many people think chiropractic is quackery? There's evidence that suggests it works and it only seems logical that the spinal cord's positioning can play a role with nerves and such.

Anyone has experience with chiropractic or has any counter evidence?

>Some faggot cheap shotted me after a play in highschool (football), had unbearable lower back pain.

>I eventually went to the doctor who recommended me to a chiropractor.

>Did a few adjustments, had a table with a rolling metal beam (essentially a foam roller bed, good shit) and used some electric pads on my back

>After the 3rd visit with no long term improvement he did X-rays

>Spinous process on my L5 was gone, got shattered to fuckall from the hit

>Told me he was sorry but refused to do any further appointments because of the risk of fucking my shit up

I would thoroughly recommend doing deep stretching and yoga before you go to a consider going to a chiropractor, unless you have some congenital defect or experienced trauma.

It works and has worked for me. I have a hernia in my t spine + other stuff which limits function by disrupting nerve signals to my right arm. The problem with chiros tho is that they range from
fucking retards ------------------ decent people----------------- actually know what they're doing.
Certificates and requirements also differ between countries which doesnt exactly help. And in my experiences the chance of finding a good one is quite slim, 1 out of 10 if I had to pick an arbitary number.

I have a slipped disc and chiropractic sure helped relieving my symptoms (this and some postural training). Now I make some exercises every day and 1 or 2 visits a year when I feel the need.

>>35166506

That's strange, after a trauma that caused unbearable pain the doc didn't do X-ray before any treatment? My chiropractic wouldn't have touched me without a NMR to be sure that he wasn't going to cripple me.

If you believe so, explain this experiment

http://www.colinmcnulty.com/blog/2011/11/22/a-calorie-is-not-a-calorie-is-not-a-calorie/
TL:DR; 14 obese people were all placed on one of 3 1,000 calorie diets. 1 was 90% carbs, one was 90% protein, one was 90% fat. Under hospital conditions AND controlling for water weight, they found that the fat group lost the most weight followed by the protein group, followed by the carb group. Suprising thing about the carb group is that a couple of them GAINED weight. As I said all were monitored in a hospital so they couldn't cheat on their diets and water weight was accounted for.

Can you honestly believe CICO dogma after knowing this? Also check out the other experiments they did that are in the article, they are quite interesting.

>>
>>35166396
According to many /fit/izens they all should have lost weight as obese people on a 1000 calorie diet, because THE LAWS OF THERYMODYNAMICS YOU CAN'T BREAK THOSE NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE JUST EAT LESS FATASS. Yet this experiment suggests that the body does not treat all calories the same and trying to solve a problem of biology with physics is not effective which completely undermines CICO.

Cлaвянcкий кopтoчкaх

Keep your heels grounded. This holds true for heavy squats, bodyweight squats, casual Grok squats, poop squats, and Indigenous People’s Stretches: resting all that weight on your toes, as opposed to your heels, places far too much stress on your knees, and the resultant shearing forces will tear your knee apart, given sufficient time. Of course, if you’re playing a sport like volleyball, staying on your toes allows better reactions and quicker movements, but that’s a totally different situation. In all other cases, keep your heels firmly on the ground.

Hint: If you find yourself unable to keep the weight off your toes, curl them upward; you’ll force yourself to maintain heel-floor contact.

Keep your back straight. I don’t mean vertical; I mean you should avoid rounding your back, whether you’re bent at the hips or upright. With heavy weights a rounded back can be disastrous, and with no weights a rounded back just reinforces bad habits. Both are to be avoided.

Hint: Keeping your chest up and your shoulders back will lead to a straight back.

Your knees should follow your feet. Your feet should be about shoulder width apart (maybe a bit wider for stability; basically, whatever allows you to comfortably reach a deep position), at about a 30 degree angle (as opposed to pointing straight forward). Make sure your knees are aligned with your feet and toes. It’s usually not an issue without a barbell and weights involved, but it’s good to get in the habit.

It’s not a workout. You shouldn’t be holding yourself up with your quads. You should be resting. This is supposed to be a sustainable pose, so you’ll be doing a full, deep squat. How deep? Clasp your hands together in front of you. As you squat, let them hang between your legs. When they reach the ground, you should be in your deep squat position. Sit down and back, let your hamstrings touch your calves, and stay there.

>>
>>35166352
Sit back. I’ll say it again because it’s so crucial. Squatting isn’t just sitting down; it’s sitting back, which spreads the load and creates a more manageable center of gravity. If you were to “squat” down and not back, your knees jutting way out, all your weight would be borne by your quads, and you’d probably topple over onto your face. At the same time, an inexperienced squatter attempting to sit back for the first time might topple over onto his or her ass. In a casual, weight-less squat, these issues become less likely to manifest, of course, but sitting back creates a more stable base and promotes good habits for when you do pile on the weight.

Hint: Imagine there’s a short chair just behind you and sit back in search of it. Or, better yet, use an actual tiny chair, stool, or anything that will allow you to reach the proper depth.

Squatting may seem completely natural (because it is!), thus rendering a “How to…” guide unnecessary, but you’d be surprised at how easily unnatural bad habits can disrupt our natural tendencies and instincts. Read through the tips and hints, make sure you can perform them correctly, and practice your weak points. Even if you’re confident and comfortable with a few hundred pounds on your back, give it a quick run-through. The squat movement figures into our lives on a daily basis, and it would be a damn shame to do it incorrectly.

Hey /fit/
Anyone else here have scoliosis? I've been unable to do most physical things for quite a while now because of my scoliosis. If I so much as lift light weights for more than a minute my back starts to hurt. Does anyone else here have major scoliosis? How do you work around it? What are the best exercises to do?

Probably swimming? I'd ask your doctor, scoliosis is way too fucking serious to ask 4chan about.
>>
>>35166239
Swimming would definitely help a ton, but I have no pool. I was mainly asking in case there's another anon here who has the same condition.
>>
>>35166251
Many communities, and sometimes gyms have swimming pools, and they are often bigger and better than what you could afford at home. check your yellow pages or whatever.

My sister has scoliosis but she never did shit, she's actually pretty overweight and depressed right now because hers has gotten so bad in middle age, she's in excruciating pain like all day and is on narcotic pain killers to manage it.

Hey /fit/, ex-fattie reporting in
First and foremost I never really cared about my aesthetics. I used to be 180lbs of lard at 5'9. I ate like total shit. As I grew up I cut out processed foods, purely for health reasons. Before I realised I became way too skinny, 110lbs.
I've been trying to put some weight back on. Lifting heavier and heavier weights is truly one of the best feelings in the world. Eating a shitload of 100% clean food is the second best feeling in the world. I wouldn't mind being 190lbs 20%bf and strong as fuck, as long as my health is good.

Anyone here bulked purely for strength? Any regrets?
