I've hit rock bottom.

My back hurts, my arms are flabby and I look pregnant.

I've got more chins than a Chinese phone book.

I'm utterly disgusted with my current body and the fact that the past few years I have gone from a ripped athlete to a "Dad Bod" sporting, estrogen producing fat ass.

I'm currently fat and will be getting back into shape.

hi

22 y/o, 21 years spent doing nothing but vidya and eating like a bird all of my life. somehow managed to end up with a gf that's way out of my league, got tired of people talking shit behind my back about how she could do better even though she doesn't give a shit and is perfectly fine with me being skinny, but it messes with me mentally. so i've decided to not be a skinny piece of shit anymore.

i'm 5'9/175cm, 56kg/120lbs

just had my first day of this version of SS:

Squat 3x5
Bench 3x5
DL 1x5
Dips 2x5-8 (add weight after reaching 10 dips on both sets)

Squat 3x5
OHP 3x5
Pendlay row 3x5
Chinups 2x5-8 (add weight after hitting 10 bw chinup on both sets)

Daily accessory work:
3x5 45 degree decline weighted situps
3x8 weighted hyperextensions

These are my question:

1. What the fuck do I do if I can't even do 1 dip. I tried doing reversals but towards the end my atrophied muscles just gave out and i started gyrating wildly and almost broke the mirror behind me from my feet swinging into it. embarrassing but i'm still going back tomorrow

2. is 3k cal enough for me or should i eat more? dgaf about getting fat as long as i get strong

3. what is a good substitute for hyper extensions? my gym has no place to do them.

and here we come to the part where you guys are gonna have a good fuckin' chuckle; my stats from the first day:

Bench - 5kg
Squat - 10kg
Deadlift - 30kg
Dips - Not even on(c)e

understandably, this is a bit discouraging to me as i feel pretty subhuman when i'm huffing and puffing with my 2.5kg microplates on each side bench while everyone seems to be able to bench their own bodyweight at the very least.

i'm not going to give up. i'm going to go there everyday, even though i'm weak af and i'm going to get stronger. it's just that right now, where i am, is pretty bad. so i hope some other ex-auschwitz fags out there could drop some encouragement in here

just keep working out and youll be able to do dips. start working on your triceps and that will also help with dips.

3000 calories a day is good. keep track of how much you used to eat and just eat more than that. if you want to gain weight, take in more calories then you burn.

dont get down on yourself about how much you can lift bro, everyone has to start somewhere. give it a few months and youll see a drastic change.

I started lifting back in November. I just moved so I had to find a new gym and my current gym is shit.

The gym doesn't allow deadlifts and you're not allowed to move the barbells so I can't do barbell rows either. Obviously, this also means olympic lifts are off the table.

This pretty much screws up most of the popular novice programs.

Before anyone asks, no, I can't just find a new gym. My town only has 3 other gyms. 2 of them are even worse than my current one and the last is way too expensive.

What should I do?

I think it's a waste of time, considering you never had boxing lessons to know how to hit. You'll probably end up injuring yourself if you hit that shit everyday with bad form.

However if you're 300+ lbs, it could be decent cardio and worth the "risk"

just keep your wrist straight to your fist, not your forearm (pic related - though kind of exaggerated), and only punch with your middle finger's knuckle (err on the side of your index knuckle, so if more than one knuckle comes into contact with the striking surface it is your index and your middle together)

aside from that, the rest should come naturally over time, just try punching with your whole body (just focus on your hips and legs) and you should noticeably improve just by practicing (the harder you hit the heavy bag, the better the technique)

practicing high kicks is the ultimate form of cardio, imo.

you don't need to be 300+ pounds...

even elite athletes are winded after 3 rounds of 5 minutes of this sort of intense activity, and they train cardio specifically not to get winded...

a lot of people punch with the flat side moving towards the target, and that can lead to your punch landing on your fingers, which will break your hand.

on a heavy bag, however, the chance of injury is laughably small..

Okay so /fit/ I designed this tattoo, kinda and I'm wondering if I should get it or not or if I'm just memeing really hard and am gonna end up looking autistic. The wolves inside are based on that old Cherokee parable you always see in motivation threads (the good and evil battling inside where the one you feed wins) , but they also carry personal significance because my father told me this story when I really young just before he died. The Sanskrit text around it translates to "the line between good and evil runs not between cultures, nations or creeds but through every human heart" (a quote that strongly aligns with my own personal beliefs, as a spiritual person) basically saying "if I can change, and you can change, maybe the whole world can change". This is something I try to live by, trying to be the change I want to see in the world and spreading a message of love and compassion, because I believe that people are basically alright really just changed by circumstance. A lot of things in life are transient but this is a mantra id like to live by for the rest of my life, something permanent. On top of the meaning associated with it, it'll also look pretty badass. I'm thinking either shoulder or left pec, above the heart. I really want to get it but I'm a little autistic and prone to poor decision-making. So what does /fit/ think? Should I get it or is it just cringe?

With them being so expensive I want to be sure to buy one I love that will suit my needs and last years. When I was a kid my friends and I used to bike all over our little town on mountain bikes, and I really loved it. Now over a decade has passed since I've even owned a bike and I'm hoping to get fit again.

Bike would mostly be used on pavement and some concrete sidewalks, but I live in the mountains so flat roads are a rarity. Really hoping to bike to work when it warms up some, and there will be some very steep roads in doing so. There may be times when I'll want to bike on dirt roads or even in the grass some, though I remember bikes not working so well on grass as a kid. Please help, I'm looking to spend $500-$1000 usd

I've honestly been thinking about just getting a cheap mountain bike from Walmart for like 150 tops. But whatever you do, DON'T get a cruiser. That shit is meant for slow rides through a flat park.
