So far I switched out incline for dips. Added dl to pullday. And I didn't bar machine cause I don't know how to do barbell row. Right now I'm heading in for my first leg day I don't think I'll be doing leg extension.

I'm looking for some advice on a new meal plan. I'm a 5 foot, 110 pound grill. Currently inactive because of weather and being too poor for a gym membership. My TDEE is about 1350 kcal. Here goes:

-300g of 1%, low fat cottage cheese (240 kcal)
-2 large poached eggs (140 kcal)
-2 cups of unnecessarily gender-marketed Greek yogurt (160 kcal)
-170g of raw baby spinach (40 kcal)
-250g of steamed cauliflower (55 kcal)
-250g of steamed broccoli (85 kcal)
-1 medium orange (60 kcal)
-100g of blackberries (65 kcal)
-1/4 a cup of oatmeal (75 kcal)
-70g of soy milk (25 kcal)
-7g of ground flaxseed (35 kcal)
-garlic (10 kcal)
Total: 995 kcal
Deficit: 355 kcal
Macros: 45/35/20

Additional info: I used to be /fit/ in 2015 until Nov/Dec when I got double depression and gained back the 10 pounds that I lost in fall. I'm stuck in a limbo between wanting to be hard as fuck on myself and wanting to take baby steps so I don't get overwhelmed.

Also sorry for not posting this in QTDDTOT. I would, normally, but it's slow and I’m leaving for the store in 30 minutes and this is the only time I can get there this week.

Don't focus on punishing yourself, that gets you nowhere. Instead. write down what you want to accomplish, and every week if you know you can add something that helps you get to that point, do it. It takes about 2 weeks-month to establish a new habit, so make sure you like what you're eating.
>>
Look into doing IF. Also count how much do you want to lose per week and adjust calories accordingly. 1 kg of fat is 6613.86786 calories. Good luck.

You are eating high carb high sugar low protien low fat but you need to be eating high fat high protien low carbs no sugar. The only "real" food you have on your list is veggies. The rest is all glorified sugar.

hey /fit/ I recently got access to a swimming pool, and I thought I might make the best of it. I like swimming, but I only do it casually.

How do I get into swimming as cardio? What swimming styles should I do, and how long/fast?

i once did something like that holy shit. desu my mind was lighyears away tho
>>
i use to be a good swimmer, just do freestyle in 100m increments if you can the other strokes are good to learn but if you just want cardio then you could do that, but make sure by the end of it you know freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly

My shopping card only with
*Melatonin(god damn, so easy to get sleep afterall)
*Magnesium(God damn works good with leg cramps and etc)
*Zinc(This shit is new for me never tried before)
What i need to add?

zinc is goat. i get horny a lot quicker and the ejaculation is a bit more intense. takes about a week of 50mg per day for it to kick in tho.

is melatonin really that good though? i have a sleeping problem but i always figure melatonin was just another bullshit vitamin.

whats the recommended daily dosage? how long until you noticed that it was easier for you to sleep?
>>
>>35585440
Read a study about zinc toxicity at over 40 mg a day. Any negative effects?
>>
>>35585440
Melatonin is legit. 2-5 mg a couple hrs before bed for me.

A new study links taking muscle-building supplements, such as pills and powders with creatine or androstenedione, with an increased risk of testicular cancer.

Moreover, says study senior author Tongzhang Zheng, the associated testicular germ cell cancer risk was especially high among men who started using supplements before age 25, those who used multiple supplements, and those who used them for years.

“The observed relationship was strong,” says Zheng, who led the study at Yale University before joining the Brown University School of Public Health as a professor of epidemiology.

“If you used at earlier age, you had a higher risk. If you used them longer, you had a higher risk. If you used multiple types, you had a higher risk.”

The study is the first analytical epidemiological study of the possible link between supplements and testicular cancer, the authors write in the British Journal of Cancer. Mounting evidence that at least some supplement ingredients may damage the testes inspired the study.

Zheng’s research team conducted detailed interviews of nearly 900 men from Massachusetts and Connecticut—356 of whom had been diagnosed with testicular germ cell cancer, and 513 who had not.

In the interviews, researchers asked the men not only about their supplement use but also about a wide variety of other possible factors such as smoking, drinking, exercise habits, family history of testicular cancer, and prior injury to their testes or groin.

After tallying their data and accounting for all those possible confounders, as well as age, race, and other demographics, the researchers found that the men who used supplements had a 1.65 odds ratio (a 65 percent greater risk) of having developed testicular cancer compared to the men who did not use supplements.

The researchers defined “use” as consuming one or more supplements at least once a week for four consecutive weeks or more.

The odds ratios increased to 2.77 (a 177 percent greater risk) among men who used more than one kind of supplement, and to 2.56 among men who used supplements three years or longer. Men who started using supplements at age 25 or younger also had an elevated associated odds ratio of 2.21, the researchers calculated.

Cancer is linked to cancer risks. Who give a fuck? Unless im getting ass cancer a week into doing something then it doesn't really matter. Its these fuckers that say breathing air is linked to cancer risks and want me to stop breathing and instead pay for air in a can that THEY manufacture
>>
≥pills and powders with creatine or androstenedione

Wow, great description. "Supplements" is a very broad ass term.

Cancer and steroids is nothing new.
I don't know about creatine though

>lift heavy
>look good
>get accused of over-compensating

Compensating is the single most damaging word people use in regards to young men and teenage boys. It is constantly used by people to stop men, and it's always used against boys and men never women or girls, from achieving things.

>work hard at being good at a sport, hobby or literally anything
>Well, must be overcompensating for being stupid!
>he might be book smart but he isn't street smart.
>Probably has a small penis as well!
>Why can't he just be happy with himself like everybody else?
>Why does he think he's so special!
>I think someone might be overcompensating!
>wonder what he's compensating for?

It's disgusting tall poppy syndrome crabs in a bucket bullshit, and i'm sick of people using it to stop kids and even adults from trying.
>lol what a tryhard!
>yeah, well i never actually try hard so when i fail i can say i wasn't even trying!

If you aren't passionate about actually trying at life, i almost feel sorry for you, but then you try and tear other people down for daring to try at something, so i hope you die knowing you wasted your life by not caring.

>>35584847
I think its a misuse and misunderstanding of the term.

If a car is heavy and you want it to go fast you compensate with more power.

There's nothing wrong with that.
>>
>>35584869
But that's not how people use it

You lift and work out?

Well you must be compensating for your small penis! so give up, accept yourself and stop trying just like us! or else i'll tell literally everybody that you have a small penis, and work out 5 hours a day, and are unpleasant, and have no personality

Here let me help you

1. Sit down or lay (be comfortable but alert)

2. Watch your diaphragm fill with air and exhale with air

3. When thoughts or sensations and disturbance enter your mind. Simply watch it as you would a passing cloud. Don't cling and get involved. Then simply as soon as you realize you've lost concentration. Go back to watching breath.

That's it, have fun

Hi /fit/ probably newfag question.

If protein makes the muscle heal better and bigger, why do we need more calories per day to get big ? Why don't we just increase our protein intake ?
16 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Laws of thermodynamics, the only way the human body grows is through converting food into mass. Without enough food, no mass can be grown.
>>
>>35581661
Protein builds muscle but calories give you the energy to lift heavy and they also support muscle growth.
Protein intake is determined by your body weight and calories are about how active you are.
