Hey /fit/,
I leave for Marine Corps Bootcamp in a little over a month and I was wondering what I should be doing to prepare. I'd appreciated advice from service members and civilians in the know. I can already bang out 20 pull ups and 100 crunches, but my 1.5mi run is 11:20. Is that alright?

That's an optimal time to breeze through most shit thrown at you
A time of 10mins is ok but you will struggle undoubtedly with anything above a moderate level pt sessio or most field stuff.

So yeah get 9 mins on run is my recommendation. Your pullups are fine.

Pretty much been killing it for 10 yrs now. Started training martial arts and that got me into studying various topics(history, finance, economics, government,etc). I simplified my life to the point where all I do is work, train, hang with my wife, and hang with my family. I don't have time for friends because I truly don't need them. If they're like-minded then they train with me. Many have started but they all fell eventually. Im the friend that improves your life just by you hanging out with me. I have a great job that allows me to train at work as well as study and Im also self employed. I live comfortably and am only getting better. I am now moving on to studying Geography, Japanese language, and probably get a real estate license just for the fuck of it.

Im also a philosopher and here is one I came up with based on my 10 years of training; Self motivation leads to self discipline leads to self cultivation leads to self knowledge leads to self expression.

I really recommend this book. Also 'Rich Dad Poor Dad' is great if you are new to personal finance. Its an easy read and gives a good general approach to financial independence. 'Money Master the Game' gives good direct knowledge on what to do and how to do it.
