Did my first day of SL today, /fit/. I enjoyed it and can't wait for my next workout on Wednesday.

The only problem I had was with the barbell rows. How the fuck do you do this shit?

I tried to copy Mehdhi, and his videos the weights touch the ground, yet the 5 pound weights at my gym are small, so I couldn't touch the ground with them, and did something like pic related. I guess my question is, is this fine? And any tips for this shit?

Looking up to research this it seems like Medhi does penndely rows?

>>
Yeah he does pendlays, stack plates to sit the bar on until you have 45 on each side
>>
Yeah, he recommends Pendlay Rows.

This video helps:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Weu9HMHdiDA

The guy is a bit of a douche, but I find his instructional videos great.

You probably will have trouble touching the floor with baby-weight if your arms aren't stupidly long, but don't worry - if you're adding weight each workout as you're supposed to, you'll soon be using bigger plates.

Don't worry either - the bb row is a right fucking pain in the ass to get right at first. It's an odd movement that a human doesn't normally do.

You could do dumbbell rows if you're using so little weight.

how old are you? sometimes beards wont' fill in until you're 25-26. It's also based on genetics but you could rock that goatee for a while and keep it trimmed and neat
>>
28

really not keen on a goatee tho. was hoping for full coverage if anything. as you can see, its not thats its light, its just patchy af
>>
>>36472675
I initially thought this was bait desu... Because that beard looks awful. Not trying to be mean just give you honest feedback. It is nowhere near enough filled in on your cheeks. You've gotta shave it dude sorry. Maybe try again in a few years.

Aight. I'm 5"9', 135 lbs. I want to be at about 155-165. My metabolism doesn't allow me to gain any weight. I don't work out that much besides running, hiking, rock climbing and backyard sports (soccer football, basketball). What do I need to consume/do/change to reach my goal?

From your post it's obvious you will never reach your goal, I would not recommend you waste time and discomfort trying.

Alright, I'll probably get some shit for posting this but oh well.

I just want to be strong and I enjoy the compound movements the most anyways.

Can I look decent if I just stick to Texas Method for 6months or so? I usually do Push/Pull/Legs

I'm not trying to get super lean, I'm content around 14-15% bodyfat.

Juicing is for fat cunts who need to reduce vegetables to their least nutritious, most sugary form to choke them down. Eat fiber, son.

Hey /fit/, I'm wanting to start a new workout plan I recently found, but the problem is that said plan requires barbells, and the gym I use has everything but barbells (I know that's fucked up, but it's the only gym in my area so I have no choice.)

I was hoping you guys could give me some substitutes for the barbell exercises in my routine:

Workout A
Squat 3x5
Bench 3x5
Pendlay Rows 3x8
Face Pulls 3x10
Calf raises 2x15/Tricep pressdowns 2x10 Superset

Workout B
Front Squat 3x5
Overhead Press 3x5
Romanian Deadlift 3x8
Lat Pulldowns 3x8
Ab work 2x15/Bicep curls 2x10 Superset (I don’t care what ab work you do)

Thanks in advance

I've been lifting for 2 months now, and I made some strength progress and got some muscle mass while cutting (especially on my thighs).
Every two days, I do
Squat 5x5
Bench 5x5 + 5x5 + 5x5
Deadlift 3x5
BB curl 5x5 + 5x5 + 5x5

The ones with 3 5x5s mean that I do a total of 15 sets, but switch to a different exercise after 5 sets.

I'm still a fat shit, but I did lose some weight and my strength increased.

Stats:
Weight :190 from 205
Height : 6'2"
Deadlift 5 reps weight : 200 from 150
Bench 5 reps weight : 130 from 88
BB curl 5 reps weight : 50 from 33
Squat 5 reps weight : 130 from 80

So, what should I do to improve my routine for cutting before summer ? My calorie intake is about 1700

Is this normal?
For those of you strength training, I really have to wait 20 minutes to half a hour between lifting heavy to lift heavier again. But that's a whole lot of waiting that I don't have time for, is it just me or how long do you rest between max sets?

>>
>>36469842
are these one rep maxes? How often are you doing them. If not, what percentage are these sets? You definitely shouldn't have to wait 20 minutes in between your working sets.

If you are testing one rep maxes, you shouldn't have to do this really often so a 20 minute rest then isn't the end of the world.
