Can you fitpill me on p90x as a workout routine? I know a lot of you focus on lifting and shit, but has anyone tried this? The dude is annoying as fuck but he's ripped and it seems like a good work out. Ready? FIVE FOUR.... THREE TWO
P90x is actually incredible, best investment I have ever made. I know all the autists on here will go HURR DO SS. But honestly this is better if u don't want to get fat
I'm sure it's nice, but I have less than zero interest in it because I want to actually make progress beyond novice gains.
It's basically a lot of bodyweight stuff with dumbbells on the side.
Makes me vomit, desu
>oh my weight isn't a huge deal yet, I bet I'm not even obese
>I'll get to working out eventually
>talking to a friend about weight
>"so whats your bmi?"
>oh lemme check

Are you trying to make a point here?

dude you're my weight and height when I started.
eat 1500 kcals a day, itll clear up in six months or less.
I know soft drinks are the forbidden fruit but would you still drink ginger ale to settle a sore stomach?
I'm out of alka seltzers
>>36518653
have some milk with weight gainer instead
would you drink 40 grams of sugar to settle a sour stomach? no
there isn't actual ginger in ginger ale. it's "natural flavors"
Very very rarely. Generally only if I'm at work (restaurant) so I'm not buying it. I'll boil half a cup and sip on it for a few hours
>>36518612
water and caffeine if cutting
eggs and oats if not
Insulin is good for gains.
Being a faggot about 'insulin spikes' is broscience. Just hit your macros, it doesn't matter where or when.
>>36518703
It's not good if you're cutting. I don't want to be hungry all day.
Anyone else irritable when they're cutting? I'm going from 2000-3000 to 1200-1500 daily (TDEE is ~1800) and talking to anyone can get me mad quick. Anyways to avoid this? Pic related, its me right now
>>36518059
try meditating?
Irritability is a known issue with hunger. Seriously op how do you not know this
>>36518255
Obviously but is there any way to alleviate it other than eating
Let's settle this for good this time: Best exercise to lose body fat?
Overhead Bench

Depression.
The one that burns the most kilojoules while you are doing it, that you will do for the longest, and that will have the most kilojoules burn afterwards.
Just wanted to give some propz to this board. Before an anon from this board helped me out with my hyperlordosis I was 5'10, and now thanks to him (may god bless him) I'm now 6' tall and I'm more confident about myself. I finally don't look like a thick black girl walking. I'm slowly getting more manly. Thanks /fit/, you're a life saver.
>>36517678
what exercises did you do? do you have pics of your back with hyperlordosis?
Whatd you just do warrior stance stretch? Or what

Same boat buddy. I just keep telling myself friends are extra baggage I don't need on hopes I'll believe it some day.
>tfw lost 6 pounds in one week through keto diet
This cut gon be good.
>>36517616
I did keto for one week. I almost passed out at my job. had to get off it
lost 5 lbs tho. shits godly
>>36517636
How much carbs did you intake?
>>36517616
Don't want to burst your bubble, OP, but I hope you're aware that these initial losses are mostly if not all water. The effect of dropping pretty much all carbs on your water management is augmented on a keto cut.
That said, godspeed, one of my best cuts in terms of experience and results was keto and I intend to do one again soon.
So I've been in the gym on and off for about 4 years. I have a pretty quick metabolism, and a long break from the gym / diet was putting me near hungry skeleton mode. A few weeks ago I sat down and made a 180 day fitness and diet plan to put on some weight, build some strength, and look good for summer.
My girlfriend used to be a gym fanatic. She still teaches Zumba once a week at our gym, but other than that she doesn't workout anymore. She's always saying she needs to lose weight, get in better shape, etc.. She claims she wants to get up and go to the gym with me, but never does in the morning.
Now today we both have the day off and I asked if she'd like to go to the gym. She said she'd love to but she can't make time for it because "someone has to take care of the house, bathe the dogs, cook dinner, etc." and stated that she "wished she had time to worry about going to the gym."
Look, I'm not a workout fanatic by any means. 3 morning a week, I go to the gym for maybe 40-50 minutes. And then I come home and eat right and drink water. I just don't understand how if someone REALLY wants to better themselves, they can find close to a half hour in their day to get into the gym.
I think I answered my own question, but how do other /fit/izens deal with this crap?
kill her and eat her flesh for gains
>>36517588
Deal with it like an adult, directly and explicitly address the issue with her
You're being equally passive-aggressive by just complaing about the problem on an image board
She sounds like a lazy cow, who gives a fuck what she thinks
Are assisted pull-ups effective? Mehdi thinks not
>The Assisted Pullup Machine isn’t effective to get stronger at Pullups. It looks like a great idea, it looks the same, but it isn’t. The main problem is that you’re resting on a platform. You don’t have to balance yourself. Less muscles are working as a result – your abs and lower back do nothing. The muscles that do work like your back and arms don’t work as hard because you’re resting on a platform. You don’t get a full stretch. Don’t be surprised if you make zero progress on Pullups despite progressing on the Assisted Pullup Machine. If you do, it will take you longer than if you had done Pullups from day one. Because the fastest way to get stronger at Pullups is to do Pullups. You don’t get better at playing guitar by playing violin. You play guitar. Doesn’t matter if they’re both string instruments. It’s not the same. Specificity matters. Stay away from the Assisted Pullup Machine. If you can do at least one Pullup, grease the groove. Get a doorway pullup bar at home and do one pullup every time you pass the bar. If you can’t do a single rep, do negatives or use a resistance band. The resistance band will only help you at the bottom, not the top. And it will force you to balance yourself. This will get you stronger at Pullups faster than using machines.
>>36517494
It is, do them slowly.
And do negatives.
>>36517494
Mehdi is a retard. Don't listen to him.
>>36517494
I don't think assisted pullups are too bad. But do them with a band. This would be closer to a real pullup. Also do just negatives if you can't do one.
>tfw was in a relationship for 4 years and didnt work out
>didnt feel I was justified to hang on /fit/ anymore
>recently broke up
>started working out again
>tfw I finally feel justified to hang on /fit/ once again
Tell me about your relationships, friends, and how it affects your lifting
Welcome back you, brah. We're all gonna make it
It doesn't affect my lifting because I'm able to exist as a person independent of someone else
>>36517319
you'll just leave again in your next relationship ;u;
I started doing deadlifts 6 months ago, back then 100kg x 5 reps was my max. Yesterday i manage to pull 160 kg for 5 reps. I set my goal to 200kg x 5 reps by the end of the year. Do you think it is plausible or should i calm my expectations?
>>36517270
If you eat right, yeah it's very plausible. Just remember to give your body the rest it needs.
>>36517270
Unless you're very gifted it probably isn't going to happen, shoot for 180kg x5 instead.
>>36517270
noob gains are unpredictable OP, i started doing deadlifts in july and could only max at 225lb, last week i managed a PR of 405lb. im still putting weights on the bar every week, but my DLs are REALLY starting to take a toll on me. im fucking fried the next day, so im certain my noob gain train is gonna derail pretty soon.
/fit/izens hi. Week 3 of my change in diet and I feel okay. Unrelated to the topic every Friday these faggots I work with bring in 2 dozen doughnuts. For 3 Fridays I haven't even looked at them. So that's good. My shitty coworkers make fun of me for trying to be healthy but I ignore them.
>"hey anon, why no doughnuts anymore?"
>I'm trying to eat better
>shitlord coworker pats my belly
>"you eat well enough already" harharhar
I'm finding it hard to grocery shop though. Compounded by thr fact i can only afford to shop at poor people markets. So if any of you are kind enough to recap on average what you purchase a week and share it with me so I can brainstorm my own ideas from yours, I'd really appreciate it. Bonus points for brands and shit. I realize everyone's dietary plans differ, but I still think it would help me round out my list.
>yogurt
>bananas
>carrots
>fresh(ish) greens
>frozen vegetables
>whole wheat crackers
>almond spread
>deli turkey/chicken
Thank you in advance for all your support and encouragement. I feel like I'm gonna make it.
Cottage cheese
Basmati rice
My girlfriend and I just moved into a new, more expensive place that actually has a real kitchen. I'm looking forward to cooking more often. My grocery list is generally -
>Raw chicken (breast)
>Filet
>Broccoli
>Carrots
>Rice or pasta
>Potatoes
>Bags of lettuce
>Olive oil
>Quinoa
>Eggs
>Deli cheese (for eggs)
>Bananas
>Yogurt or kefir
>Grapes
>Strawberries
>Some sort of fresh fruit / snack
>Oatmeal bars of some sort
>Lemons
>Sparkling water
We never spend more than $70 per week on groceries and eat pretty well, with 3-4 meals per week being out at restaurants.
Doing whatever it take , rightt babe?
