Looking to pick up running again. Last time I used 'normal' running shoes my knees hurt like a motherfucker. These things are supposedly better because they claim it feels more natural.

What's /fit/ opinion on these?

Should be fine if you run on grass or soft surfaces. Maybe I'm just prone to shin splints, but when I used to have a pair of those it would hurt the fuck out of my legs to run for too long on concrete or hard surfaces.

this is typical for many sports because they don't know any better. lifting will always benefit you if you do sports.

I need to get a pair of weightlifting shoes. I have some questions about this:

>Is there a specific website to find second hand shoes besides ebay etc.?

>Would I need other shoes to do deadlifts in? Should I just do them barefoot?

>How far does quality matter, i.e. can I buy the cheapest and as long as they have that sweet flat sole and that sweet high heel will it be just as good as some more expensive ones?

I am squatting 120kg, think it's about time I need them particularly because my mobility is poor and I squat in running shoes with plates on my heels. I know it's dumb but I am reluctant to spend money and have been putting off buying a pair for ages. Anyway it's time i need to get some.

No special plans, just a low calorie protein shake in the mornings followed by minimal food.

Why doesn't lifting carry over to real world shit?

Ive been working a few weekends for extra money doing furniture deliverers and I've noticed my strength from years of lifting isn't really that much better for moving.

There's plenty of skinnyfats im working with that can move the stuff equally as well. Its almost like having all these extra strength is meaningless. The only time it's helped is lifting smaller heavy stuff that I can grip well, but with really large pieces of furniture the weight is eventually spread across the entire thing and my strength is basically limited because I can only lift on side.

I have the endurance as well.

I do both low rep and high rep training and have for years.

The issue is that with really large bits of furniture the weight is evenly distributed across the entire thing which means I can only hold one side up at a time, even though I could technically deadlifting 30 of them.


How many of you could hold a 20kg barbell up with 1 arm raised in the air?
