I really feel tired but for some reason i still have hard time falling asleep.I really dont know what to do anymore...I'm trying to eat healthy protein rich foods,no sugar or junk food and on top of that I also do intermittent fasting but to no avail.I'm not overweight(73-4kg) but not really physically fit.I try to do exercises from time to time and it really doesn't make any difference because I still don't have energy to do simple things like brushing my teeth or showering and all I do is sit in front of the computer all day.I will probably get recommendations about going to the doc but i really can't.Not sure if its important but im 19 years old.

Hey, im lifting since ~3years and i progressed really good.
I fucking love lifting and look forward to it everyday.

But all these clowns there really start to piss me off. In the first while it was funny that there are so many stereotypes of idiots. That there are so many clowns you read about in the internet. All these dyels in tanktops, deformed bodys without any proportions, curlbros that didnt improve in any lift or muscles mass in 1+ years, girls that literally dont do anything but different kind of doggystyle poses on the ground, disgusting chubby bodies in tanktops.
Today i just stood there and watched scenery for a while and it really disgusted me. It looks like a circus full of apes that do stupid stuff and i have to be between these apes to do my lifts.

why does the calorie count in canned beans or legumes in general vary in nutrional value from brand to brand? if I buy store brand canned kidney beans I get 7g protein pr 100g with 96 calories. If I buy organic kidney beans from another brand it's 7,5g of protein and 152 calories pr 100g. And some other german brand kindey beans are like 8,5g pr 100g...I don't trust those.

Also when tracking the macros for canned beans do I measure drained weight or total weight and multiply with amount of calories? so if total weight the beans are 400g then i'd multiply 96 calories with 4 or if drained weight then it's 240g and i'd multiply 96 with 2,4. Which one is it?

Stick with black beans and rinse the black paste off when you open them. I used to eat bush bakes beans but that sauce will kind overwhelm your meal cause that shit is every where.

How much cardio is sufficient for health?

Is 30 mins at target heart rate 4-5 days a week enough?

I want healthy blood pressure and healthier cardiovascular system altogether.

30 min 3-4 times per week is enough for your average sedentary person to maintain health benefits.

However that low level of cardio will do nothing when the happening starts and you need to run or fight to defend your life from the unwashed foreign and minority hordes

Hey lads, I have years of training, a decent powerlifting total and an aesthetic physique. I can post pics and what not if interested but I don't just want to brag.

I've got some time to kill and would like to help some newer lifters are this board. No memes or shitposting, I'll do my best to give you my advice and opinions as long as your question can't easily be answered with a google search.

Other experienced lifters feel free to help out, but lets try something that hasn't happened on /fit/ for awhile and help each other out.

Well the thing is, telling you what I do is not going to be helpful because everyone is different.
However, what I do is use a metabolic capacity approach. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EY1DsZMNfNw

Basically lets look at a bulk+cut cycle. Start by getting your base macros, i use a gram per pound of protein, then go as low fat as I can where I still feel good about hormone production and day to day energy for me thats around 50-60 grams but youll have to play with it, then I go the rest with carbs.

So thats the base macros now lets go to the actual approach, so instead of running a large deficit for a couple weeks or months and then stalling, then increasing. I make very small increases to cals over a long period, adding in 50-100 cals in a week and then waiting primarily as carbs, but youll find you will end up adding fats because its very hard to not eat fat.

The most important thing is to keep going, don't just get to a good number of cals and stop, instead weigh yourself everyday and back off if the weight starts going up too fast, but keep pushing it for as long as possible. Eventually youll find you can maintain bodyweight at much higher cals and carbs than you could otherwise,
this makes cutting super super easy. When you cut, you do the reverse with slightly larger pulls from carbs but GET THE MOST OUT OF AS LITTLE AS YOU CAN, preserve your metabolic capacity at all costs, if you get fat loss pulling 100 cals, you won't get double the fat loss if you decide to jump to 200 cals.

That's my approach basically, its a bit more complicated than maybe is needed for you and requires strict counting of macros and some experience working with your own body to really work.
So I guess if you really want to keep it simple
start at a gram per pound protein, can be a little more or less daily, if you cut, you are going to want higher fats and lower carbs, if you bulk youll want the opposite.
Overall intake will be much more important for you then macro splits, so doing a traditional 500 cal deficit to cut and 500 surplus to bulk is fine, just dont go too low in cals. my approach works phenomenally but it's really only useful to people a bit more experienced but i figured id throw it out there

Progress R8 thread?

Started dieting and mild weight training 4 months ago, and have since dropped from 220lbs (pic related) to 196lbs as of today.

Went from 115 to 160 on bench

From 180 to 200 on squat (bad knee. Torn ACL from hs)

From 2 sets of 3 to 3 sets of 8 pullups

Still working on good Deadlift form, tbqh. Haven't moved much from 180

Hammer curl from 2 sets of 5 @ 25 per arm to 3 sets of 5 @ 35

How am I doing /fit/?
