I'm bulking. It takes too long to eat.

I spend a solid 3+ hours per day just eating, that's not even scratching the surface of the iceberg that is preparing all that food.

How do I cut this down? Meal prep helps but honestly, not that much beyond reducing the amount of attention I have to pay making the food. Anyways I could do that if the process of eating it all didn't take as long.

Can I IF it and shove down dense calories all in one giant meal, or something like that?

just cook like 200g of pasta, slice in dices and fry about 250-300g of chicken, then mix everything

If that number was with prep, I might understand, but even then it's on the high side.

Select more calorie-dense foods, prep more food at a time, snack inbetween on high-calorie snacks like cashews, use protein shakes to achieve your protein goals. Just watch your fats etc if you snack on a lot of nuts.

You shouldn't be spending more than 30 minutes a day eating that way, even if you're aiming for 3-4kCals.

Also, you can do something useful while eating, or at least something recreational.

Well I think that's part of it, 2 of the 3 meals I'm in front of my computer fucking around on /fit/ or watching netflix or something. And then it distracts me a bit and I eat slower.

There's a gym like 16 minutes where i live that does Muay Thai lessons and they seem pretty good. Luckily im a student so my summer is gonna be wasted by not doing any work and video games so i may go out and get a job and start going gym (Working out at home for now).

When should I train traps? On back days or shoulder days? I combine chest and back on one day and shoulders and arms on another. Which day should I throw traps into? It kind of works the shoulders and the back.

The shoulders are the top of the back.

You could train shoulders on back day and chest and arms on chest day But it doesn't really matter.

If you get over ten, start progressing with weight at.

For example, add a weight so you can only do about 5 reps a set. Once you can do 8 reps a set, increase the weight so you can only do 5.

Currently sitting out my last year of track in high school, which sucks as much dick as you might imagine. Was looking to get my 800 time down to around 2:05 so that I could help us win conference. Unfortunately tendonitis currently has its 10-inch cock rammed up my asshole, so I can't do shit but sit around and hope I at least get healthy before summer conditioning starts for college.

Had a solid cross-country season though, with a PR of 17:43 for the 3-mile, which I never expected from myself.

It really does suck to not be able to run just when things are getting exciting, especially since this is my last year on the team. I guess if there's any silver lining, I can at least look back on the last 3 years of running and remember what great experiences they were. Here's hoping for some serious summer mileage.

How can water have zero calories if a calorie is defined as the energy needed to raise 1 gram of waters temp by 1 degree? This would mean that the same method of measuring the calories in any other substance would also indicate water has calories.

You are technically correct in the strictest sense water does have calories (a quantity of energy)

However since our bodies do not and cannot use water as a source of energy we say water has no calories.

Water is essential to life and all metabolic processes, but water itself is not an energy source.

So basically as a beginner the best programs are SS, SL and Greyskull.
Main differences? Somebody who tried more than one has any advice? Basically which do you think it's better and why.

They're all pretty similar.

SS has the advantage of coming with basically a bible for the lifts since it was intended for both athletes and for coaches to help teach the proper forms and lifting cues. The main drawbacks are that Power Cleans can be tricky for the beginner to learn properly, and it's considered more lower body intensive if you don't add in the suggested accessories (dips, and chins/pullups).

SL has you starting off with lower weight than the other routines due to the extra sets it demands (5x5 instead of 3x5 that the other routines have), however these extra sets are also good in learning the form through doing. Eventually, though, the extra sets can become more of a hindrance, so it would be more ideal to move on to a lower set routine to continue to maximize linear progress (adding weight to the lifts every session).

Greyskull includes curling into the mix, but mainly focuses on 2 barbell compound lifts a day instead of the 3 that the other routines have. It also has the protocol in place with the last set allowing for a little faster progression to take advantage of the relatively lower overall muscle fatigue the program allows.

Then there's similar routines that have the same compound movement concepts but also add in accessories for more aesthetic purposes like Reg Park's beginner routine, which is the one I started with until I developed my own routine based off that.

In short, no one is better than the other because they all have their strengths and weaknesses. If you have 0 clue about form, I'd look into starting with SL, then moving onto SS if you can get your hands on the book and really nail your form down. Greyskull seems to be more advantageous if you want to get into powerlifting a little quicker than you would on SS. And if you want a bit more of a visually balanced physique for aesthetic purposes, then try Reg Park's.

Otherwise the routines will do pretty much the same thing ultimately, which is get you stronk.

Protein. There's no fucking WAY I can get 180 protons a day. How the hell are you guys getting your body weight in grams each day?

Especially bcuz I'm cutting: 2500 maint, 500-1000 deficit. I eat oats in the morning. 1 protein shake throughout the day. And some meat in the evening. Also, I'm a broke college fag at the moment. I need cheap protein advice.

I've never worked out in my life or been to a gym, but for reasons I'm not going into, I have to work out. I was given the schedule of:
Mondays: Upper Body
Tuesday: Core strength
Wednesday: Upper Body
Thursday: Core Strength
Friday: Upper Body
Saturday: Rest
Sunday: Cardio

Slight problem, I have no idea what any of that means, I was told for upper body to do pushups and pullups, but I can't do either of those and don't really know how to.
As for Core Strength, it beats me as what that means or what I should do.
As for terms of what equipment I have, I have a kettlebell and some loose weights, the kind you would put on a bar, but with no bar.
What should I do?
