Who /bjj/ here?
I've been considering getting into it as a form of self defense (inb4 fags argue how practical it is or not), a fun work out, and as a sport.
I figured if I got really good it'd be a way to talk to qt's and offer to show them a thing or two then fugg.
Friends and I used to practice it back in high school, was really fun with the big booty / titty girls that thought they were tough (some were really good though.) Not sure how it would be as an adult in my mid-20's though.
What do you think, /fit/?
Fucking go for it man, you can do bjj at any age, I recommend the gracies. They do a lot of self-defense stuff but they also teach you the sporty side. All around some of the best bjj practitioners in the world, they created bjj after all.

GO LOWEEERR
You need to lower the weight and go much lower in your squats dude.
But the bar a little lower on your back as well.
Show me the best routine in the world, or I'll eat your soul!

Convince me not to stop squating, /fit/.
I used to be a much better squater than I am now; now my technique is lost, I'm weak, and I don't feel like squating at all. The movement tends to turn more into a good morning than a squat and this is not a good thing, because I think my lower back might not be 100% okay. Also, it's very easy for me to gain muscle on my legs, so even when I've always only done very short sets on the squats and absolutely no accessory work, my thighs have grown. In relation to my upper body, they are big enough. The additional weight in my legs is hindering my pullups, which have always been more important for me than squats.
What if I just stopped squating altogether and concentrated on deadlifts? Imo they are superior to squats.
>>36907267
>because I think my lower back might not be 100% okay
No, squatmornings are caused by weak quads.
>convince me to not stop squatting
Why the fuck would you? Nothing attracts mires like a full depth heavy barbending squat senpai, besides girls love some thick thighs and ass.
>>36907267
Just go lighter on squats. Imo some squatting is better than no squatting
>>36907283
>No, squatmornings are caused by weak quads.
That is certainly not the case for me. My back squat is only about 15 kilos stronger than my front squat, and front squats have always felt more natural for me. My quads are bigger and stronger than my hamstrings.
>Why the fuck would you?
For the reasons I already told you.
>Nothing attracts mires like a full depth heavy barbending squat senpai, besides girls love some thick thighs and ass.
See pic. Also, I believe weighed pullups to be superior exercise in terms of mires.

I've been thinking about this possibility, though it would feel kind of boring and meaningless to do super light squats.

Caffeine and creatine is best rest of ingredients overrated - in fact separate caffeine tabs and creatine is probably cheaper
>>36907154
If you do get pre, maybe try one low in beta alanine as the tingling feeling isn't for everyone. I for one enjoy it but it makes me rub my face like mad though.
>>36907199
what is the tingling feeling, heard about that too
How will eating an apple or two a day affect my weight loss?
>>36907119

>making it
>>36907119
OH I DONT KNOW, COULD IT POSSIBLY BE RELATED TO THEIR CALORIC PROPERTIES JUST LIKE ANY OTHER FOOD, YOU FUCKING IDIOT?
>>36907119
It's extra calories. Thereby you will lose less weight. If you're going to eat something though, there are certainly worse options.
Anyone on here have experience using this stuff?

I just wanted to share this GIF, so, ambulocetus hate thread I guess
These are getting old
This is now a gif thread.
I got a tiny DYEL roommate at college.. to save money since we are bros - we buy groceries together.
I am the type that can wait a day or two to eat a bunch of snacks: cookies, ice cream, etc.
But this motherfucker every week.. at like 3 am I hear him in the kitchen just shredding through every goddamn thing in the cabinet and fridge.
I didnt think it was humanly possible to eat an entire loaf of bread, but he can. Jar of Peanut butter.. gone.
If I buy snacks like cookies..if I dont eat every last one or the entire quart of ice cream.. that fucker eats all of it. I don't know what to do?
During the normal hours.. like on a weekend..ask if he wants to go out to a restaurant... either says no, or barely eats anything..
but come 3am.. wtf.. everything again is gone.
I once resorted to hiding fucking food... I really dont want to live like this.
We talked about and he knows he eats like a barbarian and promises not to do it again... 2 weeks later... AGAIN.
On top of all this, he knows he has stomach issues and certain foods shouldn't eat.. but does anyway.. which results in being in the toilet for long periods of time shitting up the place.
If I happen to be up playing a game.. and I hear him in the kitchen I get this sinking feeling like 'ffffuuuuu, whats he eating now!?!"
WTF DO I DO? Im not going to fight the guy or kick him out.
>>36906703
>I didnt think it was humanly possible to eat an entire loaf of bread.
Seriously?
>>36906716
In one goddamn sitting?
Either have a sit with the lad and talk about the issue like an adult, move out, or hold it in and post about it on an online underwater basket weaving forum like a child.

I started to go to de gym about one year ago, and i was very motivated. I got fairly good results.
But now, i can't find my motivation anymore. When i started i was going to the gym 5 times a week, now i go there only one or 2 times. I became lazy. Please help me. I want my motivation back

>The longest lived among us aren’t necessarily those who are of normal weight, says a new study.
>According to new research in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), researchers say that being overweight may lead to a longer life.
>The somewhat surprising conclusion comes from an enormous, detailed review of over 100 previously published research papers connecting body weight and mortality risk among 2.88 million study participants living around the world. The new research confirms that obese people, and particularly those who are extremely obese, tend to die earlier than those of normal weight. But the findings also suggest that people who are overweight (but not obese) may live longer than people with clinically normal body weight.
