I've been helping my obese best friend getting down a reasonable size through training him with diet and exercise. His birthday is coming up soon and it's getting hot where I live, and I want to get him something that's somehow gym/activity related and keeps him cool because being fat makes you get hot easier. That or something in general that will keep him more comfortable in the summer.
Does anyone know what I can get him? I have a "cooldana" but those are kind of shit
Fedora. Can't get flame one though.

How does it feel to know that you will never be as aesthetic as me and I don't even lift?
Fuck off.
Thank you hungry skelton
Thank you hungry skeleton.
Are you lifting for strength or aesthetics?

You'll look better with strength training, i.e. like the dude on the left. Thicker neck, bigger traps make you look manlier and robust altogether. It's a win/win situation anyway. You don't need to be shredded, you just need to be thick at 13-16% bf, that's ideal.
>>36921289
both
to me sub 10% bf isnt aesthetic
>>36921322
Agree, I like the thick muscle look you get
Everyone knows what happens to your body when you work out and eat LESS and MORE of your daily calorie intake.
But what happens if say, I would work out and take exactly the kcal I need (around 2000) everyday and work out 5 times a week?
Muscle gain or loss? Or nothing? Stay same?
muscle gain and fat loss, but both will be very slow
>>36921255
But wouldn't you lift exactly the same since you're not overeating?
Is this what normies at the gym are doing(people not interested in mass gains)?
thanks for the answer my aryan friend
>>36921255
This
It's impossible to eat perfectly at maintanence. Some days you will getting slightly less/more calories over/under your maintainence. Not ideal though, results will be incredible slow.
Dumb ass new fag here, officially 1 year into lifting. Here's my awful current bod and stats.
Bw: 180lb
Squat: 240x3
Bench: 225x1
Deadlift: 315x1
Can also do 5-6 wide pull ups
and row 100lb dumbells for reps
I see a lot of people recommending 3x5, 5x5 programs and other shit for begginer, but I ask with these stats should I do a beginner routine or something like 5/3/1? I know my dead and squat are real fuckin weak
Any input?
I am 5'11 too btw
Try 2 weeks of SS.
Run texas method on Bench if it consistently stalls.
No way you bench that much
Hi /fit/, first time in a while being here. I re-read over the sticky, and it didn't quite answer the question I'm looking to get answered.
To keep it short, I'm going for a SERE position in the Airforce. In order to get said position, I have to hit the following requirements:
>300 meter swim in 10 minutes
>1.5 mile rune in 10 minutes
>48 pushups in 2 mins
>48 situps in 2 mins
>8 pull ups in 2 mins
I'm 160 pounds, 6'1; male. I've been working on the running, improving my time each time; but still nowhere near my goal.
My main concern, however, are the pushups, pull ups, and the swim.
I'll just shorten my questions to greentext to keep things brief.
>Are there any cheap distance tracking watches for swimming?
>Ideally, how do i want to attempt to improve my pushup stamina? I can do twenty or so, straight, without having to rest.
>I cannot even manage one pull-up at this point in time, how can I go about fixing/improving this aspect?
Thanks ahead of time for any answers.

Bump. Please help me, /fit/
>>36920947
do people actually have those shit thoughts all day?
I dunno check out the Speedo Shine or Basis Peak or something. I don't know what happened to Basis Peak but it was selling for $110 for a while. Problem with the Speedo Shine is it only counts laps, not steps. Misfit Shine only counts steps, not laps. Trackers aren't going to do SHIT though, so don't bother wasting money.
To increase your pushup stamina, just keep training for stamina. Volume, volume, volume. Scooby has a decent guide on it, but basically use a backpack to do weighted pushups to failure, then lose the backpack and immediately drop set to failure again. Leave 48 hours rest between workouts, don't be a retard and think your sheer anime willpower will let your body complete protein synthesis faster than normal. There are cadets who do 100-110 pushups in 2 minutes so honestly don't bitch about 48.
http://scoobysworkshop.com/zero-to-100-pushups-for-complete-beginners/
Actually Scooby pretty much covers all of this, because what you're talking about is basically beginner to intermediate fitness levels.

I feel like the 300m swim is a meme. That's 3 laps in an oly pool. Who the fuck can't do that in 10 mins? That's 1.1 mph lmao.
>>36920947
for pushups, look up scooby's program. Essentially what you're going to do is alternate training between high rep and high weight (either by setting weights on your body, or by elevating your legs).
Start with negative pullups. Left yourself up on a box or with a jump, and then use your arms to slowly control your descent until you have enough strength to do a full pullup.

Enough credit on /fit/ numbnuts plus we just barely found out who he was on yt 2 so yeah bye.
Hi /fit/,
I am a 6'4 (195 cm) tall dude and though I am not skinny at the moment (215 lbs or 98 kg), I am pretty wiry and scrawny when I am weigh a bit less. I have long limbs and my handwrists or shoulders aren't that broad/thick. I have trained in my life already and didn't snap my back, but that was years ago. Now I am 28.
I don't want to do bodybuilding, I want to get stronger, at least for the period of next 12-18 months so I thought about doing SL 5x5, which seems to be a solid routine that has good reviews.
I am afraid about snapping my shit up though. I am strict about form, but have no training partner.
TL;DR
>Lanklet without training partner
>Led a sedentary life the past 2-3 years
>Wants to do SL
>Afraid to die
>Recommended/Alternatives?
T-thanks
why dont you do roids?
>>36920803
you'll be fine. Don't be a pusy
>>36920812
Moved to a new town so don't know anybody yet, not enough knowledge about it, no training partner to supply me with. Will see my doctor though because

O-ok. Will do
"Why are you complaining about eating 1800 calories a day, anon? I *gain* weight eating that much."
>>36920690
Because I'm 6'4 and a big fucking guy
That's because you're a 4'10 manlette and will never give birth to strong sons
Women should feel full/content on much less calories when they're not pregnant.
>have been calisthenicking it up for a while
>decide that I want more, so get a gym membership
>talk to the local trainer, tell him what I want to achieve and that I need endurance due to my ancillary activities (military cross, combat sports and the like)
>he gives me a program with weights for strength and a conditioning regime to be done twice a week, "based on some crossfit principles"
5 pullups
5 burpees
10 decline pushups with feet on a swiss ball
10 spiderman pushups
15 squats + Clean Press with the highest weight I can use
20 hanging knee raises, knees to elbows each time
500m on the rowing machine
the max number of sets in 45mins, minimum of 5 sets he says.
Did it today for the first time and I barely got to three sets. Tell me, /fit/, am I gonna make it? Am I just not used to this kind of stuff or should I just quit/killself.exe/shit the bed and SS+GOMAD?
>>36920656
You're doing crossfit. What do you think?
>>36920665
I don't really know what to think, to be honest. Is crossfit inherently bad?

Sup guys, I've been told I have a fat face.
I work out semi-regularly and run, so I have a pretty low BMI and weigh 74 kg for my 6'1" height which I think is decent, but I want to make my face look leaner and longer instead of round and fat.
I have high cheek bones, so that's probably why, but is there any method in particular to eliminating the extra softness from the face?
I want to tongue the darkies anus desu.
