I'm looking for a gym that has both free weights and machines, some cardio equipment would be nice as well.

You can't have both in densely populated areas here, "fitness culture" is almost nonexistent in France.
I'm sure you'll manage to find something in Cannes but it certainly won't be decently equiped AND cheap.

Serious question fit, do the insertion points of muscles have a limiting effect on a persons maximum strength?
If a person has poor chest insertions or poor bicep insertions, will that limit their 1rm?
I've seen many physiques and those with poor muscle insertions also seem to have smaller muscles. Is there any correlation?
Only at Olympic levels does it really make a difference.

Has anoyone tried the de lorme method for size gains?
you pick an upper and a lower body exercise and do those two only (example squat overhead press, deadlift incline bench) - stick to those two only
Monday: (50% 10RM x5, 75% 10RM x5, 100% 10RM x 5) as many sets as possible (once you get past 5 sets, increase the weights)
Wednesday: 50% 10rm x number of sets on monday
Friday: 50% 10rm x5, 75% 10rm x5 x number of sets monday

Is there any reason this wont work?
I was browsing the T-nation forum the other day and i came across a thread where someone said they had some of their best gains by doing this. He said he'd perform long sets to fail with just his body weight to the point where he couldnt do another calf raise.
i think im gonna give it a go. nothing ventured, nothing gained.

All winter i tried to bulk up my legs. Whenever id take a shower (every day) id do 100 calf raises. Then i added 5 every day
Got up to 500 raises in a single set. Your calves kinda go numb after the first 100 and u can keep going as long as you have patience for really

I also did single leg calf raises holding a dumbell at the gym 3x a week a long with my normal routine
My calves finally went from sticks to chicken drumsticks and im no longer embarassed. They match my forearms now
