Seriously, it's getting out of hand and isn't at all related to fitness. These threads pop up multiple times a day and immediately fill up and devolve into vegans getting angry

Can we have a containment board? /veg/ or something? Because /fit/ really isn't the place to proselytize fringe lifestyles

When you realize that this board is mostly shit posts and don't let it bother you then you'll start enjoying it more.

Dude, it's spring going on summer. /r9k/ feels and ab generals are in bloom. Just ride out your program and block out the nonsense until mid-August.
>>
There is a little box with a minus sign in it that lets you hide threads. If everyone hides vegan threads they will go away. It's 1 vegan frantically posting prepared responses to every 10 people sharing their favorite barbecue recipes.

I'm getting into fitness again. I'd say at my peak, I was 6'3 and 210 pounds, able to do 20 pullups on a good day.

As of right now, I'm 6'3 and 250 and can only do two pullups, with another half.

How many other big guys do pullups regularly? I'm going to be trying to do at least 20 pull ups throughout the day now that I have a bar in the door frame.

I want to remove sugar from my diet, as well as artificial sweeteners.

However, after Googling for 20 minutes for just a cereal, I still can't find anything.

Could someone direct me to a list of foods without sugar or artificial sweeteners?

Some foods are nearly impossible to replace with healthy alternatives. That is why I also shop at a somewhat higher than shit tier store.

From cereals, you will most likely find NOTHING that has few sugars added. If you are lucky you could find some natural ones, that have just the ordinary sugar in them of what you would expect some of the things in foods to have.

I am not kidding when I say that 90% of all foods in a store are ineligible to be eaten if you want to avoid added sugars. Its a long and hard process of learning, looking things up. So dont expect our help.

>In 1994, the National Cancer Institute, in collaboration with Finland's National Public Health Institute, studied 29,000 Finnish men, all long-term smokers more than fifty years old. This group was chosen because they were at high risk for cancer and heart disease. Subjects were given vitamin E, beta-carotene, both, or neither. The results were clear: those taking vitamins and supplements were more likely to die from lung cancer or heart disease than those who didn't take them -- the opposite of what researchers had anticipated.

>In 1996, investigators from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, in Seattle, studied 18,000 people who, because they had been exposed to asbestos, were at increased risk of lung cancer. Again, subjects received vitamin A, beta-carotene, both, or neither. Investigators ended the study abruptly when they realized that those who took vitamins and supplements were dying from cancer and heart disease at rates 28 and 17 percent higher, respectively, than those who didn't.

>In 2004, researchers from the University of Copenhagen reviewed fourteen randomized trials involving more than 170,000 people who took vitamins A, C, E, and beta-carotene to see whether antioxidants could prevent intestinal cancers. Again, antioxidants didn't live up to the hype. The authors concluded, "We could not find evidence that antioxidant supplements can prevent gastrointestinal cancers; on the contrary, they seem to increase overall mortality." When these same researchers evaluated the seven best studies, they found that death rates were 6 percent higher in those taking vitamins.

>In 2005, researchers from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine evaluated nineteen studies involving more than 136,000people and found an increased risk of death associated with supplemental vitamin E. Dr. Benjamin Caballero, director of the Center for Human Nutrition at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, said, "This reaffirms what others have said. The evidence for supplementing with any vitamin, particularly vitamin E, is just not there. This idea that people have that [vitamins] will not hurt them may not be that simple." That same year, a study published in the Journal of theAmerican Medical Association evaluated more than 9,000 people who took high-dose vitamin E to prevent cancer; those who took vitamin E were more likely to develop heart failure than those who didn't.

>In 2007, researchers from the National Cancer Institute examined 11,000 men who did or didn't take multivitamins. Those who took multivitamins were twice as likely to die from advanced prostate cancer.

>In 2008, a review of all existing studies involving more than 230,000 people who did or did not receive supplemental antioxidants found that vitamins increased the risk of cancer and heart disease.

>On October 10, 2011, researchers from the University of Minnesota evaluated 39,000 older women and found that those who took supplemental multivitamins, magnesium, zinc, copper, and iron died at rates higher than those who didn't. They concluded, "Based on existing evidence, we see little justification for the general and widespread use of dietary supplements."

>Two days later, on October 12, researchers from the Cleveland Clinic published the results of a study of 36,000 men who took vitamin E, selenium, both, or neither. They found that those receiving vitamin E had a 17 percent greater risk of prostate cancer.

I can't understand it, /fit/.

I'm a good-looking, intelligent guy with a great body that I enjoy flaunting at the gym. Needless to say, I enjoy receiving attention and compliments from women without exerting any effort.

What irks me, however, is that I sometimes see couples at the gym in which the women are babes and the guys are "doughboys." I love the challenge of diverting these particular women's attention away from their doughboys.

So why would a great-looking woman date a lumpy guy with no class or obvious sex appeal? Is she insecure? Or is she intimidated by male beauty and therefore plays it safe? Why would a woman who takes care of herself want to risk having dumpy-looking kids?

Sometimes I flirt with such women while their men are elsewhere, but I always start to feel sorry for the guys when that happens. One time, a woman even necked with me on an airplane for two hours, and then, upon arrival, introduced me to her husband.

I would certainly consider pursuing such a woman from an attraction standpoint, but if she has the capacity to be disloyal like that, then I would rather not bother.

Are you also that autistic in real life? Serious question
>>
Or perhaps there is something BEYOND his physical appearance that she is attracted to.
Maybe he's funny. Maybe he's a genuinely kind guy. Maybe he's honest. Maybe they just have fun together and enjoy each other.

Being /fit/ is fucking great but it doesn't replace having an actual personality. If you are an asshole or a helpless piece of shit behind off of your SQUATZ and GAINZ then you won't hold on to any girl for too long.

Keep up the good work bro but don't just assume that aesthetics are the be-all-end-all of everything. You also have to not be a sperglord douchebag.
