Obese people in society get told 'to exercise' and stop' being lazy' and 'stop eating' all the time. usually by people who have no understanding of how human Fetuses develop in the womb. when a mother is stressed and not getting enough nutrients the Babies genetic make up is tailored to adjust to it's environment (such as famines, war, low resources ) and during plentiful times will have a much reduced ability to store fats. So when that expectant mother in your feed who brags about how she's keeping her figure during Pregnancy and fighting the very natural build up fat in her own body by exercising and starving her unborn you tell her what a complete selfish prick she is and congratulate her on creating another human being who will have a daily struggle to even remain in the top average weight/size and in many cases are stuck in the morbidly obese category, Not only is it grotesque child abuse but I think it is a HATE CRIME against your own child
they are WORSE than NAZISM in my opinion....

What does a body look like after a 4 months of pushups, pull-ups, chin-ups, crunches, and a healthy diet?
I'm spending the summer in Switzerland and all the gyms are horribly expensive
backpack + 2 dumbbells + pull up bar is what i've been doing at home for 7 months, enough for me and still proggressing
>>36972870
Came here only to say that I share your taste in women. Have a nice summer.
>>36972939
thanks dog
I've always been a slender guy. Not skinnyfat, really slender.
One summer I decided to work out. The motivation was intrinsic: I wanted my body to feel like a man's body.
I strictly followed the workout schedules for 3-4 weeks. Basic exercises. As for the diet, I ate lots of eggs, as well as rice and meat. I also drank protein cocktails.
I often had to force myself to eat to reach my daily dosis of 500 calories. I had to force myself to eat a lot before, after and even during workout - to ensure i had the energy to pull through, because the amount i would eat naturally was much, much lower.
Overall, workout was still a fun thing to do, so I stayed motivated for over a month.
My motivation dropped to zero instantly after visiting my relatives. They said I got fatter. Not fitter, fatter. They also said I should probably start to do sports, not knowing I did exactly that.
I actually noticed that my thighs and buttocks really added some junk. As a skinny woman, I would be happy - as a previously skinny man, I was really disappointed and ceased to do the schedule instantly.
Currently, I'm discarding the weight I added. Thankfully, that's an easy thing to do if you were skinny to begin with.
But my dreams of a fit body have been crushed, I feel like I simply wasn't born to have one. It also seems that the slight face fat I added is a lot harder to lose.
All my male relatives were notably skinny as young men, with straw arms and legs and protruding cheekbones. Genetically, I'm not build to produce muscle and envious of the guys that are.
What mistakes could I've been making?
>>36972827
setting your expectations too high for a summer.
You can't assume that because you decide to put effort into something that you'll bust out exactly those results in a short period of time.
>>36972827
Go do a cycle and realize how wrong you are.
Why haven't you overcome your inferior genetics through jaw surgery yet, /fit/?

Why are people going to gym to make their biceps bigger when its 21. century and we are not fightning for a meat or running with a spear?

Women shouldn't be allowed to use the gym unless they are accompanied by a man.
They have no respect for the gym equipment, other people, are not conscientious about other people and their workouts, and make no effort to understand gym etiquette. They use up multiple pieces of equipment and look at you funny when you ask them to use their stuff that they've been hoarding for 30 minutes.
These are just common occurrences in my gym daily:
>takes multiple benches/plyo boxes and dumbbells to do stupid sumo squats
>does circuit training directly in front of the dumbbell rack and jumpropes in between sets
>will take weight plates off of the squat rack while someone is using it instead of walking 10 feet to use the weight free that is unattached to any equipment
>use the bench press to do abs while resting from reverse pirouette lunges, taking up majority of space in the bench area
>uses a squat rack for 30 minutes to front squat 55 pounds
>constantly be on phone instead of exercising, using up equipment that other people need/want and act bitchy when someone asks to use it
I don't hate women, they just have no place in the gym unless they are accompanied by someone else who knows the culture and flow of a gym. It's like a minor going into a bar with someone who is of legal age.
These old fucking mexican soap opera ladies had 2lb dumbbells in front of the free lifting area taking up the space where the only free barbell was
FUCKING PISSED ME OFF
>>36972787
I agree with you. There is this one chick in my gym that is the worst offender.
You always know she has been using the squat rack because there is 25lb plates on it that she never racks. She moans when lifting and it's so loud you can hear it from across the gym and I have a pretty big gym. I hate that girl I'm going to tell her to rack her shit one day.
Also all the other girls come to the gym and only do body weight exercises right were people deadlift. It's so annoying because they could just do it at home.
>>36972843
That's a good point I totally forgot about that. Women never rack their weights properly. I could've added that but it's also not exclusively a female trait. Plenty of old men do this too. In fact, the rules that apply to women should also apply to old men now that I think about it
Apart from appearance goals, is there anything else you're aiming for in terms of fitness?
I've always wanted to sprint a mile
>>36972631
275kg squat
I wanna beat Oliver Sacks' record.
>>36972631
You can't sprint a mile.
Sprinting is anaerobic, running a mile is aerobic.
Having a goal time for your mile is more realistic.
For example, getting under 5 minutes is a big benchmark that a lot of people aim for.
My best is a 4:24 mile and that was as a senior in highschool with years of rigorous practice and plenty of good competition.
You could also aim for under 4:30 (assuming you're younger than 30 or so) but you'll need to commit to training 5-6 days a week for a few years and you'll realistically need some good competition to run against (check out open track meets at your nearest largish city).
Yes, my Uncle holds the family record BP of 365. He seems to bring it up everytime he sees me. However he admitted he was on the juice in college (played linebacker).
I've pressed 315 el Natural and hope to eventually beat it
26 years old. Gym has become an off an on thing. When younger, I would have long hiatuses, I'd get back to it quick, makes gains, and get right back where I started.
But now, my body can't cope with it so much anymore. I've had minor and some moderate muscle strains from going too hard, some taking 2 full weeks to completely heal. I've noticed cuts, scrapes, bruises take longer to heal too. Hair thinning (genetics)
At 26, aren't I too young for this? My diet is good, micros at least. Macro's, I lack a bit on, for my goals in mind.
smoke/drink?
>>36972624
Drink, yes. But just weekends. I don't get hammered though. But still, maybe 7+ beers

Are you the only lifter in your circle of friends? Or is your whole group into fitness?
Almost all the guys in my core group are into working out for health and strength, and most of the girls enjoy fitness in some capacity. There a couple outliers or people who don't train regularly but for the most part Id say our group is fairly fit.
>>36984164

the only one who notices my gains is my mom and she tells me to stop getting fat
Well /fit/ is my group of friends. So no.
>>36984164
Yeah, and they all get insecure when their girls say shit like 'you look good... in this' the first time they see me and then they limit contact with me pretending they never have time when I want to meet up. Fuck those cunts.

I would have liked to but the more I get to know her the more I doubt we'll get to the gymgf stage.

Started my weight lifting journey last October with my brother in law. He left in January to go to this boot camp thing 3x a week for a new year weight loss competition and never came back to barbells so I lift solo now. Headphones always in, slight head nod to regulars I see everyday but no conversation.
