i started my first bulk two weeks ago and it seems that ive gained 1 kilo per week.

but i'm eating only 200calories over my maintenance, my diet is clean too.

is that a normal progress for someone whos doing his first bulk?

thougt 1 kilo per week seems a lot, but also heard newbies make noob gains.

Competitively l don't really know, most of them are great pick one up, as long as you stick to it and read about it before jumping into it.
For self-defense l'd say boxing is great.
Street fights are people rushing in with random punches, boxing teaches you how to fight and has a good competitive scene too

Hey guys, first time here so cut me some slack. I've started my cutting diet no lower my bodyfat %. (I am normal atm but want to become more lean). Anyways I just wanted some advice on stuff to eat?

Pic is:
-Chicken filet (with some spice, just for the taste)
-Brocoli and some onion
-Barley
-Eggs

Does this sound okay? I am cutting carbs but trying to keep my protein need fulfilled every day. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, and try to eat every 3 hours. Am I doing it right? Sry for long post.

Hey /fit/. I've been lifting for three years now and have a question for you.

I've attached an imaged of two different bodytypes at similar bodyfat, but different amounts of lean mass, and where that lean mass is located. I understand that many of you may prefer the image on the right, but I *strongly* prefer the left.

While I understand that it's a drawing, I chose to share this because it gives a cleaner comparison between the two body types. If you would prefer real human pictures to compare, let me know.

Which brings me to my question. I notice the image on the right has a much thicker torso, along with larger traps. My current routine has a strong emphasis on heavy compound movements (deadlift, flat bench, etc). However, I'm concerned this will build mass in areas that make me look like the image on the right rather than the image on the left. I'm interested in keeping my torso as small as possible, and am concerned that the stabilization of a heavy compound movement like a deadlift would thicken my trunk. Even when powerlifters slim down they have a crazy thick torso, I don't want that.

Which brings me to my question, how do I look like the image on the left rather than the right? Should I remove deadlifts from my routine to avoid building a thick torso?

Obviously you can add lean muscle in different areas through your choice of exercises. For this reason, I suspect that by changing my routine I could look *closer* to the image on the left than on the right. Thanks.

How do you get out of a plateau, /fit/?

I did start out very weak; could barely bench 95 lbs and DL 1pl8. After 6 months of lifting, I can finally bench 1pl8 and DL 2pl8. I know this is still very weak by /fit/ standards but I have sadly hit a plateau and can't seem to lift any more. What am I doing wrong? Even if I add 2.5 lb to both sides, I fail to do more than 3 reps.
