Now it all makes sense why after 4 years of natty lifting my calves are still only 15 inches or so.

calves are 90% genetics, 10% hard work
>>
my brother has never lifted a day in his life

he is 6'1 and fat as fuck (like 140kg), his calves are literally like IFBB tier. Despite his extremely high bodyfat percentage, his calves are both extremely lean, muscular and vascular and about 19 inches.

Meanwhile I've done thousands of sets of calf raises, progressively overloaded into the hundreds of pounds. Tried all the different styles of calf raises and my fucking calves have BARELY developed.

They developed some muscularity and separation, but it's nothing like any other body-part on me that's grown from lifting.

calves are a different type of muscle fiber that does not respond well to weight training Anon.
They grow bigger and stronger through constant movements that involve the muscle (running, sprinting, calf raises, climbing, hiking).
a runner is doing practically hundreds of calf raises from step off for hours weekly.
As a runner I have bigger calves, hamstrings, glutes than most lifters I know.
My first time ever doing weighted calf raises I did 3pl8 and within a two week period achieved 4pl8.

Since the last 3 week I've been having this pain in my calves when squatting. It occurs/starts when I'm in the bottom position of the high bar squat.

I haven't take a rest, and I'm not progressing because at the last 2 sets (of 3) I start to have this pain in my calves. Apparently it's in the soleus muscle.

The soreness keeps a few minutes more after I finish the squats and then it ends.

I think this started one day I was stretching my muscles. I was in the bottom position of the squat and let my knees past a lot my feet (while keeping my back straight). Also when I was squatting with 2.5lbs plates in my feet.

Because I can't control that good the weight at the bottom, I do dive bombs. Today I can't finished my squat session because I lost the balance because of the pain.

When walking I don't present pain in my calves.

Am I fucked?
Should I rest?
How many days?
I'm 18 years old, I do 190 lbs squat (80 lbs each side of the barbell) 3x5

I do not present knee pain.

Or maybe it's more like in the tibial where I feel the soreness.

Instead of eating two scoops of this a day why don't I just get 48g protein worth of chicken breast plus a BCAA supplement? Wouldn't that be the same thing?

you don't want to leave humanity behind?
>>
Yes it would be the same, but taking the 2 serves of whey is a lot faster and less work (no preparing/cooking the chicken)

Here's what I do.

1. Everyday = 48g protein from why + 12 from the skim milk I use with it = 60g protein total.

2. Get the rest of my protein (100-120g) from food.

That way I end up with 160-180g protein everyday, with minimal effort.

Been lifting for 4 years and I'm one of the most aesthetic manlets on this website, so it works.

ITT: Discuss pull-ups.

Almost out of dyel mode.
I can do my 2sets 10reps of wide grip pull-ups and every subsequent set digresses by about one or two usually for four sets. Then I switch to wide grip and narrow chin-ups.

Post your pull up routine and how often you do pull-ups.

If your heart beats less than 60 times a minute, it is slower than normal. A slow heart rate can be normal and healthy. Or it could be a sign of a problem with the heart's electrical system . For some people, a slow heart rate does not cause any problems.

If you don't do a lot of cardio you should probably get it checked out.
