Anyone know how many calories a 200 lb guy will burn in an hour on an elliptical machine?

Depends on your resistance what your heart rate levels are at. I'm a 195 lbs guy that use to be 200 lbs. I burned about 400 calories after 30 mins of using the elliptical with my heart rate ranges being between 165bpm-183bpm.

So I've been lifting for like 6 months now but I feel like I havent made any progress.

I'm thinking of starting /ss/, but the 3 excercises its based on(squats, bench and dl) are very off-putting for me, especially since i've had unrelated leg injuries in the past.

What routine/diet would you recommend for my body type.

Ok /fit/, the free weight area in my gym is closed from today until Saturday as they are expanding it and putting in new equipment etc etc. Normally I'd be pissed but they are adding an extra rack and barbell so I'm not too mad about it.

So the other part of the gym will be open. This has an assortment of your standard machines, treadmills and stationary bikes, an area for calisthenics, dumbbells up to 10kg (this is where all the girls work out), kettlebells and a bunch of those retarded bosu ball things.

How do I make the most of this and get a decent workout in?

Treat it as a light day, if there's an area for calisthenics then do some dips and chin-ups, use the dumbbells for added resistance if they're too easy for you. For the legs, some Bulgarian split squats with the dumbbells can be great.

Hey /fit/

I'm a trap here looking for some kind of excersize machine I can fit in my small apartment. Mostly looking for cardio and feeling like an excersize bike is a safe bet.

But I'm getting mixed messages on whether I should get a recumbent or standing! I'm really just looking to shape up my butt and legs some more and burn some fat.

Which is better? Any models you might recommend! Thanks a ton /fit/ I hope this isn't too annoying.

Get one of those mini stationary bikes that are just a block with pedals. You can put it in front of a comfy chair or the couch or whatever.

Found a pic of what I'm talking about. Anyway the problem with a full size bike is that just about all of them have a stupid fucking console right in your face that makes it really awkward to watch TV or browse the internet. I have a recumbent and it is comfy for a bike but I'm still stuck shit posting on a laptop awkwardly set up beside me. If I had one of those mini fuckers I could put it under my computer desk and use it all day no problem.

It's literally a marketing scheme.

Normies are extremely impressionable. When they see shit like this they think "Wow, this person truly knows what he/she is doing. I can't even be disciplined enough to not eat pizza and have a beer every weekend, let alone eat well and go to the gym".

I think it's possible, but you'll need to incorporate some advanced calisthenics work, such as planches, levers, handstand pushups, etc

You won't be huge though unless you take gear

you can 'make it' with just pushups and pullups BUT they need to be done weighted and with a lot of weight. Doing dips instead of pushups might make the setup easier though

if you can do these 2 exercises with 50% of your bodyweight added for reps youll have a muscular upperbody guaranteed

Was up all night teabagging kids on my Minecraft server, so at work this morning I'm understandably exhausted, right? There I am, in the breakroom, pounding my fifth shaker of Mesomorph, and I hear a familiar noise.

It's goddamn, motherfucking Janice, tinkering with the coffee machine again. Hey, here's an idea, Janice, maybe you can't get the fucking Keurig pod in because you have hooves and it requires opposable thumbs you fat cow. I swear I'm this close to hitting up the FBI and telling them the Janice is a sleeper cell for ISIS or something.

Anyway, I’m trying to choke down the Mesomorph, but Janice’s frustrated swearing (she pins tren so its understandable) was going through me like a .50 cal round through a newborn. You know how in cartoons when the characters get real mad, and smoke starts coming out of their ears? Well it was like that but the smoke was coming out of my mouth because I lit a fat bleezy laced up with yip to mellow myself out.

Once Janice smelled it she got fucking PISSED OFF and did the classic maneuver where if you catch someone smoking you make them smoke the whole pack, except it was a blunt laced with high grade columbian snow so I’m sitting here in this stall taking a power shit with the door open and reading Stormfront. What’s yalls Wednesdays looking like? And can anybody in the Dallas area hook me up with some MEsomorph like asap I ran out

How do I only lose body fat %?


According to my scale I'm at 19% BF, I'm at my target weight of 162 pounds but I seem to be a bit high on BF% and I want to drop that.


Do I simply start running (cardio) and continue my diet the way it is? I'm going to be cutting everything but water, no more alcohol or tea.

Its easier to train on a deficit by only eating in the evening. hunger pains pass in a matter of days while remaining on a huge deficit

is it worth it to do a mini cut (say 5 lbs) to sort of extend a bulk? I want to keep getting bigger (up 10 lbs ince april) but just want to shed a bit of fat first. nothing long term, not trying to get shredded just trying to make my body a bit more receptive to gaining muscle.
