funny story, I was a really active kid and got into fights all the time for years and years, later in my teens I started working out with heavy weights.

It turns out that for that entire time my abs were flexed. it was in the last 4 years that I stopped working out enough for my abs to relax. For literal decades I was walking around with my abs constantly flexed, even while sleeping, I had no idea they were flexed and had to concentrate to make them relaxed

Skating oldfag checking in. I could give you very specific advice if you listed your stats--height, weight, shoe size, board set up and time spent on the board so far.

As far as generic advice goes, look for a pro skater your height without about your build and look at what he's good at. Taller, stronger, relatively athletic guys should model themselves after someone like Reese Forbes who can ollie really high and skate really fast.

If you're medium size and kinda muscular, look at someone like Sean Sheffey. Shef is kind of a thicker guy (at least, for a skater) known for having really strong legs, which aid one in grinding gnarly shit. At the same time, he still has small feet and is good at flip tricks.

Shorter, skinnier guys have more options for tech stuff. Skateboarding is like figure skating in a lot of ways--the smaller you are, the better you will be at the more technical aspects of it. Try to model yourself after someone like Guy Mariano or Daewon if you're smaller with small feet (those help a lot on flip in, flip out stuff).
