Have you left a message for the piano man yet?

Bump. I want to see this happen.
I'm stalled, obviously over-trained. currently cutting.
I've heard that if you are at a caloric deficit for a while your metabolism slows. Part of recovery (besides muscle recovery) is to eat at maintenance (your new lower maintenance) for three weeks to raise your metabolism back up so you can begin cutting effectively again.
True or not?

Yes its true.
Lyle McDonald has..an entire book on it. He also has a shitload of articles. See his site on "refeeds".

What does /fit/ do in their free time?
I've known for a long time that one of the keys to actually being fit is not sitting around the house all day eating out of boredom. Do you think The Rock (for instance) sits around the house all day eating but stays ripped because he uses steroids and has magic genetics, no, he's most likely out doing some productive shit every single day
I have the desire to go out and "do stuff" but I don't even know what to do. I don't have any friends anymore so I just end up shutting myself in my house and hiding from the world.
>>42538701
I hike regularly on the weekends now. I don't have any friends either and it's a pretty relaxing and active hobby to do solo desu. Plus being solo you end up chatting with others when you're on a summit or something so it's not totally lonely.
How much can I cut below TDEE without losing muscle mass, if I lift 3 times a week?
Just to clarify, I'd like to go a little above that number just so I can make a bit of lean gains while prioritizing fat loss.
Building muscle while losing fat is a meme
For people who workout in the morning:
Do you eat before going to the gym, and if ro what?

Man, I'd love to work out in the morning. But my gym is a popular cardiobunnies club with 2/3 treadmills, step machines rowing machines and bikes.
1/3 left for machines and the free weights are basically cramed in one small room.
Those fuckers open at 8 am, close at 10:30pm on weekdays.
On weekends , they open at 9 and close at 4.
They recently introduced the lunk alarm , and the music is a mix of loud "shape of you" and "despacito"
It's not even a Planet Fitness with a ton of equipment, because I am an Europefag.
Welcome to Basic-Fit, the shitty small one.
200g oats and 1L whole milk.
If I work out with no food in my system, how am I suppose to make strength gains?
>>42538092
fasted morning workout is the best workout. dat shredded mirror reflection after you're done is worth the occassional fainting and walking around like a zombie
I'm lookin for some about routines and or workouts. I have a few in mind like planks, Russian twist, and some rows, but that's all I could come up with. So any more would be greatly appreciated!

50 sit-ups
25 leg raise
25 toe-touch (?) (basically you put your ass against a wall, legs in the air and try to reach for you feet)
All that witouth a break at the end of your workout. That's what we used to do in thai boxing and everyone had killer abs.

Is anyone on /fit/ a personal trainer? I'm currently employed at a gym and looking to become one. I've been told the NASM is the most widely recognized certification. Any tips?
It's a good cert to have. It isn't a weekend thing where you pay and viola you're a trainer. It's based on exercise science and has an immense amount of information that can personally help you as well with your own exercise regiment.
It's not cheap but worth the price. Most of your clientele won't be 20 year old something male with no orthopedic issues. So NASM gives you a decent format to follow in order to get your client from a sack of useless shit to someone who can actually move well and see results
Running on a treadmill feels like a much harder workout, but I'm wondering if that's just because it puts more strain on my joints rather than making me work harder.
>>42538009
I like ellipticals just because I can have resistance in addition to incline.
I also feel like treadmill is the harder workout. Somebody smarter than us lay down some facts.
>>42538009
Then change the speed/resistance until it's harder. Cardio is for CARDIOvascular training, so just measure your heart rate and keep it in the right range
i just brought a squat bench
gains gonna be insane

Hey /fit/
Which specific exercises should I do and what should I eat to look like pic related? I'd prefer to do this on a vegetarian diet.
I'll go first with stuff that has happened recently
>got a job i can do while studying

2/3/4/5 here I come.

>woke up one day shoulder feeling funny
>kind worried
>turned into kinda painful in a few days lifting
>panic and stop for a week.
>feel it get better over the week while I do cardio
>lifting today
>some tightness and a small bit of weakness on the effected shoulder, but no pain
>lifting normally for taking a week off too
I probably just slept on it bad and pinched a nerve. That and I favor my right side when I do stuff and work. That combined with my hypochondriac autism made me panic. Still, I'm going to take it easy on overhead lifts for a few weeks. Those bothered my shoulder the most before my week break and it's better to be safe than sorry.
