What is /fit/'s opinion on feederism and its ideals?
clear;y this is a thing /fit/ endorses we all desire to be retarded degenerate fatties
>>37922384
I'll admit I'm kind of a fan of it but I hate how integrated into the HAES agenda it is.
>>37922384
Feeders and fatties should be removed from society.
>bought 2 bars of chocolate.
>ate one like a whore
>i feel bad about it because i made such a nice progress

Great thread OP
What do yall have to say about yoga?
I stopped lifting after last semester ended since not paying tuition doesn't let me in the gym. Since then I've been running and doing some bodyweight but it's nowhere near the same. I have been getting back into yoga though, and it feels awesome although my core is weak as fuh cuh.
Anyone have experience with using it to "set your body straight" so that lifting is easier? I find squatting feels a million times more natural if I'm regularly doing some yoga on the side.
>>37921914
As a DYEL I found that if I just did SS or 5x5 eventually I'd start running up against strain in connective tissue or stabilizer muscles as is typical when always progressively loading benches at 5RMs or whatever. I found that doing light accessory work of any kind, including yoga helped.
At least from a comfort and injury prevention angle. From a performance angle, don't listen to me, listen to someone who knows what the fuck they're doing.
>>37921799
I like to do yoga twice a week when possible on my non lifting days. I definitely recover better when I do.
Why do I sometimes have muscular spasms in my Gastrocnemius muscle while I sleep? No matter if I do sport or not, I wake up in pain during some random nights.
this happened to me a lot before
i don't know how to fix it, but i know how to stop the pain
just get up and walk around a bit, it will go away, seriously
MAybe you get dehydrated at night
>>37921786
In fact the tension/intense pain stops after a while, but the soreness lasts for around a day. Running the next morning helped me to recover faster.

What keeps you going to the gym? Been liftan 4 years now without any breaks. Someday's I look in the mirror and fail to recognize the person that stares back. 4 years ago I was 27kg overweight. Took a week off and ate cheesecakes and now gym doesn't seem like to attract me anymore. Am I finished?

I've been there... what worked for me was mindfulness meditation and changing up my workouts to something else, preferably outdoors. I know it's not that simple though... It's something you'll mostly have to figure out on your own. I still experience short episodes (2-3 days) of depression, but they're less frequent. Good luck, anon
Whats better for losing weight
dieting or doing cardio?
Im /cutting/ rn and if u do cardio on an empty-ish stomach would u burn off muscle?
Sticky
>>37921460
fuck u no one reads the sticky
losing weight is 99% diet
Wow..
So this is the power of /fit/ ...

Bodyweight fags keep saying stuff about how bodyweight has great carryover to lifting, but how about lifting to bodyweight carryover? E.g. will doing bench press make me gud at advanced pushups, do deadlifts improve my pullup, or will getting a good OHP help with handstand practice? Etc.
I've been playing around with calisthenics for the last few years, training for strength and general fitness. From skinnyfat and not being able to do a single pushup, I can now do intermediate stuff like archer pullups, perfect one-arm pushups, pistol squats with a 15lb dumbbell, etc.
I'm asking because I want to try lifting for a change. I want to get on Starting Strength or StrongLifts for a month or two, mostly because I want to try something new, also to learn about lifting and how maybe I can integrate it into my fitness regimen in the future (BW + lifting makes you godly, so I hear). But for the first 1-2 months I plan to focus on just lifting and my usual cardio, so I don't half-ass so many things at once like some crossfit fag. Or will I need calisthenics sessions once a week or so to maintain the skillz?
Also, I look somewhat like pic related now. I don't count calories or TDEE or macros except maybe protein sometimes. Will lifting improve my aesthetikz? I'm partial to any build between ottermode and pro gymnast.
Plz help. I've read the sticky and this /fit/ stuff looks really exciting, especially the part where it turns you gay.
High test skeletor here.
I can already do over 15 reps from most calisthenics exercises including dips and can't do one of the harder calisthenics like one arm stuff (although I did a one armed chinup today).
Fuck your "carry over," some people are just wasting their time with calisthenics.
Requesting calisthenics graphics anyway please.
Weightlifting hardly has any carry-over for calisthenics
>>37921237
>lifting to bodyweight carryover
Yeah, you'll lose all your muscle
that is what carries over
Why do men think that having semi muscular arms gives them permission to be fat pieces of shit? Your muscular arms don't mean shit if your fucking belly is fat. What gets me is that these types of guys always consider themselves attractive because they aren't skinny. No, skinny is much preferable to this shit.
The excuse I always hear is "well it's hard to get to the gym these days muh time". Ummm, then put down the fork? It's not a matter of you not working out, it's a matter of you overeating like a disgusting farm animal. Just stop fucking eating so much, it's disgusting.
Pic not entirely related to what I'm referring to, but close enough.
>>37921185
Its due to society wearing shirts all the time. Mainly t-shirts. You only need to appear big and strong. So as long as you have big shoulders and big bi's and tri's and slight size to your chest, you're pretty much golden. Abs are generally for your own personal reasons or homosexuality. Thats basically it.
Women want to feel secure protection, and strength.
Men want aesthetics that are symmetrical and proportionate.
>>37921185
read the sticky and see if you might be able to work out what's going on there you stupid cunt
>>37921185
its harder to get stronger while cutting.

Is keto a meme?
If i eat at an x deficit, will eating fats and proteins exclusively help me lose more fat?
no, and that isn't what ketofags claim
Have fun having no energy to actually go make gains.
>>37920979
No.
>>37920994
Yes it is what many of them claim. The whole idea goes back to Atkins and even before that with the carb-insulin hypothesis of obesity. The idea is that keto creates a "metabolic advantage" because the lack of carbs and dependence on ketones release fat from fat cells and prevent it from going back in, so your body is forced to oxidize or excrete them, thus significantly raising your energy expenditure without doing anything.
This is false of course, and people on keto actually lose much more muscle mass and much less fat mass than people on moderate and high-carbohydrate diets.
