Is there any difference in benefit between dumbell curls and barbells curls?
no, they are equally worthless you teenage curlfag
>>37961112
Dumbells use more stabilizer muscles you fucking dumbell.
>>37961112
neither are as good as chin ups
Does it take strength only about a week to increase? And if I can't lift the weight I was using a few hours earlier, thats good, yes? Just rest until the day after tomorrow or whatever.
I'm weak as shit and I need to start increasing my strength. I will work on the muscle building as planned but I need strength as well.
>>37960831
Takes 48 hours to recover as a noob. Yes you'll get stronger. Google supercompensation.
>>37960876
I currently do not have a rack/bench.
I have a barbell and a ton of plates.
I need to work on my mobility and whatnot for squats. But in the meantime, is this enough?:
OHP
Deadlift
Curls
Skull Crushers
Bent Over Rows
Floor Press
>>37960955
That's fine.
See about some front squats or plate squats (grab a plate and squat), too. The movement is important. If you're doing heavy deads, the weight of your squats isn't as important.
tell me, how do we actually know the calorie count of anything? how is it measured and understood by scientists?
Read the sticky
it's how much energy is required to boil one gram of water
they measure it by breaking the food down into it's components, fat, proteins, etc. Those have specific calorie amounts so after that it's simple math
calorimeters, look it up
Are chiropractors quackery /fit/? I have anterior shoulder problems that nothing i have tried fixed so I just bought 80 dollers worth of chiro visits. I hope to god the person doesnt wrongfully diagnose me so i continue to come back. I just want to get better. I have had this problem for well over a year now. God help me...
>>37960276
>Are chiropractors quackery /fit/?
Yes.
At best they'll do nothing and try to get you to come back regularly. At worst they'll fuck your shit up.
Go see someone with actual qualifications like a physiotherapist.
t. they fucked my shit up.

fml
>>37960276
Do not let them do rapid head jerks, twists, etc. Lay that as a ground rule... only slow deliberate manipulation.
I have a friend that was told my multiple orthopaedic docs that he would just have to live with and "manage" back pain. A chiropractor got his back straight pretty quickly. It really changed his life.
hey guys what is this thing called and how much does the bar weigh? never used it before today, when i saw a guy doing half deadlifts with it and figured it woul be good for shrugs, it was much better than smith machine. think ill try farmers walks with it too!
>>37960136

> brand new gym at my condo

Can someone explain to me the obsession with "team" faggotry? Why can't people just be responsible for their own shit. It's always one person ends up doing the vast majority of the work anyway.
I'm referring to uni "group work" and job "teams" if that wasn't clear. That said, at amateur level it's also usually one guy carrying a load of shitters in team sports too.
its called not having aspergers anon
>>37960045
Or I'm just sick of retards getting credit for shit they didn't do.
>>37960029
People want a sense of belonging more than ever
>I'm referring to uni "group work" and job "teams" if that wasn't clear.
that shit pisses me the fuck off
I always get stuck with some dumb fucks who don't do any work, and the teacher is a piece of shit who won't do shit because 'muh work distribution sheet' as if they'd agree to sign on the fact they did 5% of the work and I did 75%
Holy fuck I keep saying I'm willing to do the work of 4 people solo if it means I don't have to deal with this shit
/fit/
What's the proper amount of time to rest between sets?
>>37959942
doesn't really matter. 30 sec to 1 min. try not to rest more than 90 seconds to keep yourself motivated
research says you get maximal strength and size gains at 3 minutes
>>37959942
to increase your lifts, as much time as you like, and desu you can just go for strength and still cut to a low body fat and work abs while being strong instead of doing a meme bodybuilder routine built for people on roids
Do any of you watch this Rich Piana fag on youtube? I accidentally stumbled on one of his videos now I'm hooked on reading the comment sections for each one, they're really funny.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7h0yOoNpgM
Whats his name?
>>37959726
Ricardo Klavier
Never heard of this guy before can u enlighten me
is ten minutes on the treadmill at 10mph before i hit the weights gna ruin my gains?
>>37959626
Yes. Any type of cardio kills gains, including walking. Make sure to drive to the gym and wheel chair your way in for maximum gains.
>>37959626
Running burns kcals you could be using to gain weight.
>>37959721
what do you do to warm up then?
Ok /fit/ so I'm moving into the single quarters barracks this week and I have to get groceries and whatnot. I may have access to an electric single burner and mini fridge. I'm pretty poor at the time being payments and whatnot, I can afford about 250$ CAD tops and I'm trying to eat low carb/sugar and high fat/protein. Any tips?
>>37959507
Trust me if I could afford fish, turkey, nuts, oils and fresh fruit I wouldn't be asking. The question is, how do you eat clean on a budget and limited ressources?
>>37959474
Eggs, lard, potatoes, and the cheapest ground meat you can find. Skip fruit and dairy. Shit's expensive.
Is this the picture right? What's the correct form to do for pushups? Are there any forms of exercises that may strengthen the muscle involved to do pushups to increase count?
Also roll for some pushup digits I guess.
OP quick Bump
>>37959268
Elbow position affects which muscles are used for the movement. Elbows tucked in will recruit the lats and front delts more while your 45 degree angle will invole the pecs more, depending of course on your own physiology.
>>37959268
Wide pushups work your chest harder, v's work triceps harder. Wide push ups are fine as long as you don't go to failure everyday.
When does it get easier /fit/?
I'm on day 3 of quitting and I'm fucking dying inside. When I smoke all I want to do is quit, and when I quit all I want to do is smoke... this is hell.
>inb4 75 cigs per day cunt. I'm not him.
>>37959221
Probably tomorrow. It usually takes about 3-5 days for me to stop craving when I quit from a binge.
hey man just quit recently myself, I started smoking at 14 and am now 22yo & 2 weeks clean
after a week the cravings will calm down, the tightness in your head will start to fade, your brain will start to work to repair the damage nicotine causes
after that it's all mental cravings you have to control, if you have an abnormal stressful event you have to really watch yourself that you don't talk yourself into smoking again
I'm curious about this. How did you guys started smoking? Never smoked in my life, and I've always seen people around me start despite all the anti smoke ads, and schools telling you about the effects.
People typically give me the run around when I ask about how they started, with one notable exception being one guy I knew who began while deployed in Iraq as a stress reliever.
This weekend I went full on Vegan for the first time. All of my meals consisted of plant based
"complete" protein sources. If my calculations are correct I managed to get roughly 220 grams of protein a day. I have to report that the only noticeable difference is looking a bit "softer" in addition to some bloating. But I do feel somewhat "fuller" both in terms of satiety and with regards to my muscles. I dunno....
I'm pretty sure I'll always consume meat on some level but if I can still make gains and if this is indeed healthier than meat, well...
Perhaps I may go full on vegan someday, for health reasons.
Any thoughts?
You won't notice big differences if you only do it for 2 days, lol.
i went vegan for health reasons, my muscles didn't change (i only lift to maintain now). Even if it made your gains worse who cares your overall health is much more important, don't forget cardio too
Anyone tried lactic acid or german body comp training?
https://www.t-nation.com/workouts/lactic-acid-training-for-fat-loss
The chest/back day and the leg day both destroy me. The arms day doesn't though. My arms hurt but I don't really feel tired. Arms day feels so different than the other days. Is this ok? Should I adjust the split so that I am working big muscles every day? My goal is fat loss/muscle building
idk man, bump
Looks like retarded crossfit tier training and the biochemistry is complete bs.
>Produces more than bodybuilders inject
