Been lifting for a month and this is all I have to show for it. And to throw salt on the wound I think I have gyno.

fix your diet.
>>38020479
What did you expect in a month?
Come back in 1-2 years
Why have some of you began PPL/Bro-split?
>>38020475
Because I love going to the gym, so going 6x a week i better for my mental health.
Also because my legs are big enough from squatting 3x a week for years, so now I'm just trying to maintain my lowerbody while filling in my lagging upperbody.
Current split is ABCABDx
A - chest and shoulders
B - back
C - legs
D - arms
>>38020475
PPL is balanced well and it's been working for me
>>38020475
made my best arm gains on bro split
chest and shoulders and upper back are lackin severely tho
just switched to PPL, after a tricep and elbow overuse injury it's been a slow start(my fault)
debating whether I need a rest day between Push and Pull day
I don't roid so PPLPPLx is like impossible
incline BP
decline BP
dumbbell shoulder press (sitting)
flat dumbbell press/incline DB press
Landmine press (shoulder version)
Flat chest flys/incline chest flys(low incline)
Push-ups
overhand tricep push down
overhead Dumbell single arm tricep extension
So assuming you can do both Pendlay Rows and Power Cleans with good form, which gives you more carryover to improving the Deadlift? I currently do SS and love power cleans but it's not asy to get away with them in public gyms and was considering replacing them with Pendlay rows, for two reasons mainly,
1: They draw a lot of presumably negative attention from onlookers
2: Most programs don't really allow proper inclusion of Power cleans so in my search for an intermediate program I always run into the "Where do cleans go?" question
>>38020449
Depends why your deadlift sucks and why you aren't dedicating that volume to more deadlifting.
>>38020449
How do power cleans draw more negative attention? Whenever I pendlay row people stare and some clueless gym worker tells me to 'control the movement' so it doesn't make as much noise.
>>38020449
>1: They draw a lot of presumably negative attention from onlookers
If you're doing Pendlay Rows or PCs properly, they'll draw the same amount of attention. You're not supposed to be slamming the weight down at the end of the rep on either.
>2: Most programs don't really allow proper inclusion of Power cleans so in my search for an intermediate program I always run into the "Where do cleans go?" question
If you're coming up with your own intermediate template, just fit them where you want. You can do both rows and PCs, it won't kill you. But if you're sticking with pre-made programs I don't see why you're so eager to go about changing things around if you can't figure out something like PC placement
There is a boy at the gym that I have decided I am interested in. He lifts a lot and always hangs out by the squat racks and whenever I see him lift something heavy, I want to pull him towards me and kiss him really hard. I've caught him looking at me as well but I know that he has a girlfriend since I have seen her at the gym with him. The first time I saw them together I was really sad and bummed out. I'm not trying to be a homewrecker or anything but I really enjoy being around him...also, he motivates me to get /fit/. Is it wrong for me to go to the gym the same time as him and work out next to him?? Does that mean I'm somehow doing something bad? help >,<

I'm a female.
I don't care too much for looking great naked, but I want to look really alpha and intimidating with clothes on. What do? Should I sacrifice my leanness to achieve the buff look?
Yes low body fat % is a fucking meme and does nothing good for you at all if you aren't underwear modeling.
>>38020181
but that way you lose some facial leanness which is pretty bad for my goal.

Is this facebook?
How do you guys here who are complete losers (like having no friends, no girlfriend, bad parental relationship, virgin, shut-in, etc) find the motivation to work out? This is the predicament I'm in.
24 year old skeletor, friendless permavirgin shut-in and I just can't find the motivation to start working out when i basically have no external happiness in my life. I could lift and get ripped and I would surely still be friendless, no girlfriend, alone.

>friendless permavirgin shut-in
No you're not.

does anyone know anything about the alleged link between chlorinated pools and increased incidence of asthma amongst swimmers?
apparently the chlorine in the pool evaporates and hangs low near the surface, so when you are swimming and coming up for air that air is pretty much heavy with chlorine compounds.
this has been said to increase the incidence rate of asthma and causes adult onset asthma which does NOT go away once you get it.
why is this not a more commonly warned side effect of swimming?
>tfw 25% of olympic swimmers are confirmed as having asthma. this is the highest reported incidence rate of asthma amongst any group of professional athletes
I had asthma, then started to swim regularly in a chlorinated pool and my asthma went away. That's my little anecdote on the topic
>>38020203
appreciated. thank you.

Pic related, it's my dad and his girlfriend
Does he look like he lifts?
Your dad looks familiar but I can't tell exactly who he looks like
He looks like a wizard... or perhaps a dragon.
Jumped in the 4 hit the juice in my ride
It's good to have a king on this board that surprises you every day. For example, only this mirnong did I realise Big Mike was a swimmer before a powerlifter, he swam 10 miles straight when he was 10 years old. Incredible.

Can he kill a lion with his bear arms?

Don't women go crazy over this dude's physique?
Have I made it in some way or do they just like his body due to his $$$$$?

Ok /fit, I know there are some pretty arrogant assholes on here and I know there are some overly supportive posters as well. All are welcome, I need any and every bit of advice possible.
So I am 5'6-7" I have been working out since I was 14 and I am 17 now. unfortunately I am only 145lbs and started at 110.
I say I have been working out that long, but tbqh i only really curled light weights and bench light weights to stay in shape. Only the last 5 months have I really started to step it up and workout more. My buddy is my height and works out much less frequently than I do, hes the same weight as me, he can lift more with some muscles than me and less with others. Like he can bench more, but I can curl more; like that. The thing is, he is a lot bigger than me in every weight and he appears more toned. So I have been trying to work out so i can stop looking so skinny, and I can't afford to go to the gym so I have a bench with a preacher curl attachment. and I have a ton of free weights. I usually do 4-5 workouts a week where I curl and bench as much as I can for 9-12 rep and 3 sets. Then I do a shit ton of military presses or whatever its called and I do body weight exercises daily. Push up, sit up, pull up, chin up, etc. Anyways I know that to get bigger you have to eat a lot and lift heavy. or so I've heard. I eat a shit ton now when every I can oats nuts steak including the fat on it, nuts, pasta and rice. And I drink milk more than water now. also my forearms literally hurt so much when I curl now and feel like they will break now. been that way for 2 months. its seeming pretty hopeless. I know that its not I just need to fix my routine. So I just want ppl to read above, and correct whatever I may be doing wrong.

I think my "friends" will want to come back to me after they see me get fit.
I'm just gonna tell them to fuck off.
And thats why i lift.
Best.
Motivation.
Ever.
i wanna look like my chinese cartoon characters
Lifting is sort of just something I do now so I don't really need motivation per se.
I also lift for progress. As someone who goes entire weeks with having only shitty workouts and feeling anxious the whole time I'm at the gym and feeling depressed the whole time home I live for those few days per week/month where gravity feels like it's turned off and I feel like I could move planets. That's when I make progress and my lifts go up and it's the best god damn feeling in the world.
Also I guess that if I stopped lifting I'd hate myself even more for having quit yet another thing that could've made me a better person in the long run.
If I'm not doing this then I'm not doing anything. If I'm not doing anything I might as well kill myself.
