I'm starting ICF 5x5 and the recommended time for resting is 3-5 minutes, but that seems asinine at my level. I generally take 45-60 second breaks at most between sets.

Also, my dieting is very poor but I want to fix it. I've never eaten my greens as a kid and i hate them, but obviously need to learn to eat them. Where can i find recipes that apply to a 2550 calorie diet per day that will help me eat properly. I'm really bad with eating right and food in general, and need a lot of help finding what to eat and how much.

Chest:
3x5 flat bench
3x5 incline bench
3x5 cable flies
5x5 Triceps (cables/skullcrushers/dips etc.)

Legs:
5x5 reg squat
3x5 standing calf raises
5x5 hamstring extension
3x5 seated calf raises
3xf core (crunches or wtf ever)

Back:
1x5,1x5,1x3,1x1 Deadlifts
3x5 shrugs
3x5 lats (cable or pullup)
3x5 OHP
3x5 rear shrugs
3x5 CURLS
fxf Grip strength
and sometimes farmer carrys

The reason for mostly 3x5 and 5x5 is that I go with much higher weights/more intensity, a lot of them are near failure.

Reminder that if you want to run any distance longer than an oval track at least some of your workouts should be easy, slow and long and you shouldn't get winded.

Running slow increases your lactate threshold, allowing you to run faster and longer without getting winded.

1 long easy run a week.
2 hard days (tempo runs, intervals, fartleks, strength, etc)
Fill the rest with recovery runs/rest/whatever else.
Having a day of cross training is always good for variation and injury prevention.

Depends how many weeks you have until race, but the rule of thumb is don't increase anything by more than 10% a week to keep from getting hurt. Increase less to be conservative. Map out your plan out backwards from race date. Always rest the day before the race, rest or recovery run 2 days before.

They offer different benefits.

They both work your core due to the lsit shape however hanging will work the lats, grip, back more while floor will work chest, tris, shoulders more.

Is lean bulking a fucking myth?

I've been bulking for like 9-10 weeks now. And I've made some progress and gained about 5 pounds. But I've definitely brought my bodyfat percentage up a few points.

I thought I could stay somewhat lean during this. I'm only running a 250 calorie surplus, doing some light cardio, and doing intermittent fasting. As well as eating very clean. I've managed to cut 50lbs and I count calories, macros, and weigh all my food so I know my diet is on point.

But I'm still losing way to much definition in my abdominal. At this rate I'll be fat by Christmas.

I'm thinking about cutting for a few weeks and then trying a different diet. Maybe I'll try high protein, high fat, low carb.

What is most important to you in life /fit/? I've never cared about much before, but now I'm starting to want more and more than a big deadlift and abs. It feels weird just turning 23 and being so behind everyone else my age. I won't graduate until I'm 26, was an autist and fuckup in HS and before, but now I've calmed down a bit and know I want to be successful and have a good family one day.

When did you stop putting the gym as a priority? I feel embarassed...

Of course it's not, that doesn't mean you should stop. Getting my PhD in ChemE before 25 and I've never skipped a single session. You already have the habit you can focus on other things in your life without losing it.

I am becoming increasingly disconnected from reality.

I am at a family gathering at the moment, and am physically repulsed by the people related to me.

My mother is flabby with loose skin and liverspots, she cries at the slightest thing and has a 4-5 second reaction time when you try to talk to her.

My father is in acceptable physical shape but has no ambition except to lay around at waste his precious hours on this earth. He is short and balding.

My younger brother is fat and disgustingly pale, his skin wobbles like a washed up corpse when he moves and he is far less intelligent than normal for his peers.

I have gotten so used to hanging around with high-achieving, fit and energetic 20-somethings at uni I feel unable to interact with others not so 'perfect'. When I brush against my "loved ones" I have to physically suppress a shudder, and I find dinner table conversation almost unbearable. I just want to leave and go back to my muscular, intelligent friends where I can be myself and not this repressed animal I am at """"home"""".

I recognise this cold loathing I have begun to feel from media like American Pyscho or Solzhenitsyn, and I know its not healthy or normal.

How do I fix myself? I have never felt so alien before.

Milk is a good source of proteins and calcium. Technically you don't have to, but it's a great food for those who aren't allergic. Just like peanuts.
