Questions that don't deserve their own thread, thread.

Last one almost dead.

I've somehow hurt what I think is probably a muscle in my obliques on my right side, so now I can't do any exercises that even remotely use my abs, or take too deep a breath without the pain flaring up.

What exercises can I still do in the gym so I don't lose my gains while I'm recovering?

I'm doing the greyskull LP routine. My gym doesn't gave micro weights so rather than going up in 1KG increments I've gone up in 5s and made sure I can go for reps on my last set. Is this optimal?

I embarrassed myself today.

I dont know what to do guys i cant take it anymore. Ive been underweight my entire life but now its gotten to the point where people cant even look at me without assuming im some kind of addict or have cancer which people have asked multiple times. Just today one of my friends moms even asked if i lost weight and then half an hour later asked if i was anorexic.

No one wants to look at a guy this skinny, when people think of skinny they think of my weight at 150 pounds. Its even hard finding clothes to wear because smalls just hang arms and XS is to tight because of my height.

I dont have an eating disorder, or at least i dont think i do. Ive never been diagnosed and its not like im trying to lose weight. I never throw up or look in the mirror thinking im a normal weight or overweight or something. I just dont eat a lot and im pretty picky but ive been trying to get past that. Im really lazy when it comes to eating and i know its my fault in a lot of ways because ive literally gone days without eating full meals just because of laziness. I hate myself and how i look and the older i get the worse its going to be for me and it will become more, and more likely that i will die alone because no girl wants to be with a literal twig .

Girls have come up to me and make remarks on my weight multiple times, this is especially bad with old people and drunk girls who literally grab my wrists and laugh. And guys at clubs or bars feel like they can treat me like a kid because they know i cant do anything.

I dont know what to do guys im honestly losing all hope.

Bread
Milk
Peanut Butter
Chicken
Wheat based cereals
Oats

If you like a few of these, I don't even care about what else you like because you can gain weight with this.

When you eat dinner, eat as much as you can, then drink a glass or 2 of water, this will help expand your stomach for lack of a better term, leading to being able to eat more.

I was 53kg 6ft when I started, about to hit 70kg now.

Don't get disheartened, you will see results quick, keep this photo as a permanent reference.

Have you been following the Olympics /fit/?
Anyways, I'm always amazed at how the human body can be shaped in so many different ways depending on the workout habits that you apply to it.

Now let's talk for instance at both the swimmer and the gymnastic body. Aside from the obvious features (broad shoulders, long arms and legs for swimmers; thick arms and legs, strong core for gymnastic body) I want to talk about height here.

Can exercise and workout really determine over genes your maximum adult height? I mean, of course if you swim and such you are more likely to be taller than if you hadn't; I am talking more about the Asians that you see taking part of these competitions, people well over 6 feet...It's not like if they hadn't swum they would be 2-3 inches smaller...I think they would be way shorterthan that...or?

If swimming makes such a big impact in your life height-wise, every country should make compulsory for their kids to take swimming courses!

I dont think you need to get a gym membership to just fix that, but maybe u ll do it faster there.
some cycling per day, some walking per day and some squats/light deadlifts will probably fix it, while eating a bit more protein.

How old is too old to start training for the Olympics?

I'm 18, have been swimming all my life and intermittently swimming competitively for the last 4 years. Since 17 I've been very focused on my sport, and have been achieving new PBs (current 50m free PB is 20 seconds) consistently for the last year.

I want to know, if anybody can tell me, if it would be unrealistic for me to at least qualify for the 2020 Olympics.

I currently have no coach, and train on my own in the local pool. I do in-pool training of about 4-5km a day every other day, and then do weights and resistance training on the off days.
Usually consume about 5000-6000 calories a day if I can.

Would I be wrong in thinking I could make it?

No, but I can bench more than I deadlift, because I haven't deadlifted yet, and I've been lifting 3 weeks. I've skipped like five leg days in a row.

What's a good DL weight to start with? I can do 135lb 3x5 on the bench and 155 3x5 on the squat.

Which one is better? I recently switched to low bar and found I could move more weight and my lower back wasn't in shambles. Is my core and everything else still working the same as high bar?

learn to abdominal brace and not to go so low that your low back rounds. put a hand on your abs and another on your low back and bend at the hips and squat down until you know what bending just at your hips feels like. stop lifting with your damned back, dumbass.

also, yes, high bar will be weaker than low bar. better leverage (back is the limiting factor in the squat).

So here's the thing, for the last month I've been eating at Taco Bell.
I get the same thing every time.
2 Shredded Chicken Mini Quesidillas (180 cal each)
A cheesy bean and rice burrito (420 calories).

So a total of 780 calories.
Then I go home and walk off 400 calories.

Net calories for the day: 380

But I can not lose weight. I've been stuck at 170 for the last 2 months (plus or minus a pound or two).
What am I doing wrong?
