What's the worst /fit/ mistake you ever made?

>cutting like a mad man
>can take up to 3 days for me to shit
>want to get an accurate weight measurement of myself
>waiting to take a shit to weigh myself
>5 days pass without me taking a shit
>start binge eating to spike my metabolism and trigger a bowel movement by pushing the food down faster
>7 fucking DAYS pass without shitting
>buy some laxatives
>take double the recommended dose
>stomach feels like its tearing itself apart, can't stand up straight and can't sleep because of wretching pain all night
>8th day
>pain kinda gone
>still can't shit though
>go for a 5km run later on
>start having immense abdominal pain again
>don't think anything of it, keep running
>reach the half-way mark
>uncontrollably shit myself
>explosive liquid shit fucking spraying out my ass
>liquid shit fucking everywhere all down my legs and ass

I started going to the gym more seriously few months ago, but I'm struggling with my bench

I can only bench 110lbs and adding weight more than 2,5/month seems impossible

I do 5x5 bench on my workout A and dips on B, and I go to gym every other day alternating A and B

Should I just bench more or what?
I also can't retract my shoulder blades when lying down

Yeah, when I hold the bar lying down and try to do it, it just feels wrong and unstable
Like I'd have to put more effort in doing that than actually lifting the weight

I just started SL, and I wanted to know if it would be catastrophic to replace with the barbell row with pull-ups? The reason being that holding my head in that horizontal position without a support and while lifting a heavy ass weight is giving me migraines. Not headaches, full on migraines.

I read that pull-ups are an excellent exercise for beginners for lats/general back, and since that's really all barbell rows are working anyways, I would think that pull-ups would be fine as long as I move on to weighted pull-ups when I can. I just wanted to ask around and get some options/other options.

Since you can go heavy on rows, they're considered a good exercise for mass, whereas pullups are considered an exercise for width since they primarily target your lats.

Also, you're probably doing Yates rows which require a lot more stability in the lower back region, OR your back is going way too low, and that isn't good since you're hanging the weight off and not letting it drop to the ground like a Pendlay row - do Pendlay rows for a few weeks and just focus on your form, lower the weight and work back up with good form, I can't stress how important good form is, especially when you're doing compounds that stress certain areas of your body more than others.

Make sure you're drinking enough water in between sets and keeping your body hydrated, what you might be experiencing is an exertion headache, read about it.

tl;dr do Pendlay rows instead and add pullups to the end of workout A.

As other anon said, pullups are great but mostly focus on lats. Shouldn't you be doing them in SL already? Chinups are often added in SS anyway.

The nice thing about rows is that there are multiple ways to do them. Pendlay rows always get recommended and they're a great exercise but a lot of people also complain the form just feels awkward.
What you can also try:
- T-Bar rows, there are some stations with horizontal support in gyms
- landmine rows also called Meadows rows (those are my favorites)
- dumbbell rows
- cable rows, high or low angles
- last resort, machines

As a beginner lifter you will still gain muscle mass and strength, even while cutting. You stop doing a program when it stops working, despite adequate nutrition, rest, form, and actual adherence to the program.

Don't cut on SS, don't cut unless you have muscle or are ridiculously fat. If you are fat just diet and cardio until you are skinny enough, then start SS.

What to do if your parents are gains goblins?

Last time I went to visit my parents, it didn't go quite well. I had gotten some well earned gains over the years I was away, and it sort of turned out like this.

No reputable doctor is gonna give you gastric bypass unless you're fat as fuck. Even then, they'll try to get you to diet and exercise until finally giving up and shrinking your stomach. And even then, it's no guarantee you'll lose weight. Chris Christie got it done 3 and a half years ago and he's still fat as fatass
