Agreed. I'm becoming slowcooked bean boy. What about you?

>all of the macro's that you need, without omitting or focusing on one group too many
>as close as you can get to the dietary standards from the US gov
>without the corporate buttfuckery extended lore on cancerous substances and things that make 70% of the population fat/unhealthy
Are there even any kinds of negatives around eating clean?
it seems like a pretty potent "right wing" approach to foods. To forgo "progressive" mindsets on foods, with things that you do not really need. With foods that have worked with us and kept us healthy for the longest of durations before the industrial revolution.

Are there any circumstances - no matter how unusual - in which a caloric deficit will NOT result in weight loss over any substantial period of time
Any at all?
I can't find any - but so many people claim to have tried to lose weight by controlling their caloric intake and failed that I figure I ought to look quite exhaustively.
I am quite sure that they're just lying or failing to correctly monitor their caloric balance (indeed I have found many studies which have found this to be true - especially for obese patients who seem to under-report their intake by at least 30%, and often by much more than that); but I want to be absolutely sure.
So, are there ANY circumstances in which calorie controlled diets have been shown not to work? Peer-reviewed studies only, please.
Thanks /fit/.

Death. Once body systems do not function, weight will not be lost regardless of how many calories aren't placed in tbe corpse, until decomposition that is
>>38600948
if you mean on the scale, water weight/gylcogen/shit weight/pregnancy
if you mean actual loss of bodyfat ; only (super fucking rare) genetic diseases that make the body consume muscle instead of fat
>>38600974
I mean the latter case; I'm excepting things like massive tumours and so on.
Most soda uses aspartame, but how bad is it for you?
Does it really interfere with weight loss? I've heard all the speculation and rhetoric around it:
>it causes weight gain because some people will eat a double cheese burger and thing that the diet soda offsets it
...not really the fault of the soda itself. it's a behavorial/knoledge gap
>it causes weight gain because it tricks your brain into thinking you ate something sweet
i don't understand how that would work
>it causes cancer
there were studies done in the 80's but these weren't very well designed. they fed lab rats human sized doses on the stuff, as i remember reading.
Why would you want to drink that garbage in the first place
i lose weight when I drink soda with HFCS or table sugar in it.
I gain weight when I drink artificial sweetner soda.
>>38599850
If you've been addicted to normal sodas for a while then these are a good transition before gradually giving them up completely.

I don't get why so many people on here actually train for strengh. It's the dumb.
When are you ever going to actually use it? Seriously?
Posters will say
>to impress girls, I don't want to be asked to lift something and not be able to and look like a pussie.
Well in a way you are saying you lift for other people.
>I lift for myself and my own health
SS and lifting heavy really isn't near as healhty and active as a more frequent routine with more cardio. Lifting heavy for years will eventually fuck up your joints even with proper form. Enjoy being able to dead 500lbs and also enjoy having a wrecked back as an elder.
Think I'm kidding?
>I don't want to be weak
Stop compensating. No one realy cares about how much you can lift other than faggots who do SS. Seriously they are the worst type of lifters and think numbers actually mean something in life. If you aren't a professional powerlifter why actually try to lift so much?
You aren't realy using your strengh ever
And no bein strong does not mean being a better fighter.
I think all peope who do SS do it just so they can feel some sort of joy about themselves. They are usually ugly and fat but as long as they are "strong" and have "muh function strengh" then they are happy with thier lives despite never being able to use thier strengh.

>>38602349
Roids, obviously.
Ok, /fit, lets get this out of the way. I apologize in advance for the small wall of text.
I'm reading the sticky thread right now, though most of it i've read before, and I have several questions.
Incoming trap/cd/mentalillness b-tard spammers, inevitably.
Here's the deal. I'm a MtF Trans girl. My "Ideal aesthetic" is... what you'd expect. Slim, feminine, the usual.
The problems i'm facing:
I weigh 200 lbs.Skinny-fat - doing a little cardio (considering I do pretty much nothing extra besides work) would solve that problem. However, in the interest of health, and also getting to the way I want my body to be looking and feeling, I obviously need to lose weight.
I have a pretty broad back - Shoulders not so much, but my trunk is thick.
Here's my questions:
1. Motivation - Probably the biggest thing. I have problems staying motivated. If any of you have depression, or suffer from bouts of "Oh fuck this is hopeless", how do you combat that? how do you stay motivated to keep up with everything?
2. Diet - How do you manage to keep to your diet? Pretty much every "health food diet" i've tried recipes of tastes like ass. Any tips or links to clean, healthy, actually tasty food? Also, obviously, gotta have the right "Shape", so I know not all fat and carbs are bad. But how much? Should I stick to the Mens "Daily food allowance" considering i've been biologically born male, or should I stick with the women's?
3. Legs - Cardio is obviously going to be a pretty big thing for losing weight. I'm quite fond of High intensity interval cardio - Crams a lot in to a short time, lets me get it out of the way, etc. My legs end up dying 1000 deaths. What's some good cardio that focuses on other areas of the body besides legs? Any suggestions and tips?
4. Muscle focus. - i'm on hormones, Biologically born male. how is my body going to react to weights and such? I know doing weights helps, I just don't want beefcake status.
Will monitor, I work in 3 hours.
>>38602332
1.dont be a pussybitch
2.nonrestrictive dieting is the only longterm solution. Everything else fails given a long enough timeline. Make it fit your nutritional demands for the day.
3. Push ups and inverted rows? Burpees are my go-to cardio when barbell complexes are unavailable.
4. You won't accidentally get huej
That being said there is no reason for you to train upper body, especially avoid delts.
Hip thrust and squat and deadlift is all you need, imo
Maybe bodyweight pull ups and push ups for basic-bitch tier conditioning
>>38602379
Thanks for the reply.
Your answer to 1. and 4. made me laugh a bit.
1.Tips on not being a pussybitch? I don't really have a problem with the aches and such. I like the feeling of having a good workout. Just need to find ways to keep motivated. Anything help you when things make you feel like shit?
in regard to 2 and 3, I basically have no fucking idea what you just said.
2.The problem with food is that things like eggs, baked/roasted chicken, fish, that kind of stuff either becomes boring when eaten a lot, or just doesn't taste good in the first place (regarding eggs). What kind of stuff do you eat? What are you more lenient about? Obviously nonrestrictive is the only longterm solution, but how nonrestrictive?
3. Push ups count as cardio? What the balls are barbell complexes? - Suppose i'll just look it up soon, but more info would be nice if you would like.
4. . Completely understand about not training upper body. Deadlifting doesn't affect upper body that much?
>>38602332
Not that other guy but have experience with question1: I found lifting to be very helpful with depression/other psychological problems. Whenever I was having a fucked up day I would remember how well lifting went and about how far I'd gotten with it (startend out anorexic 6,1", 132lbs, now at 165lbs and strength has gone up big times) push yourself through it, no matter how shitty your day is, you'll feel better for it, trust me.
couldn't see a CBT thread in the catalog so lets see your rig /fit/
