Getting a six pack, how much of it comes down to diet and how much comes down to exercise?

I am a lean dude but I have belly fat. This belly fat hides my lower abs. Sometimes, when I drop some weight, I can see all the six pack, but usually I can only see the upper two, or upper four.

I was thinking that no matter how much I exercise my abs, they won't be visible if I don't burn that fat. So is there any point in exercising abs in order to get a six pack? Why not just burn that belly fat? You can get the six pack without exercising them if you burn the fat, so why would I waste my time doing that when I can work out some other, more important parts of my body?. What do you think?

you don't necessarily have to isolate your abs but it only takes maybe 15 minutes at the end of a workout or the start one it, so why not just do it? i do it daily along with other abdominal wall strengthening for boxing and i can tell you it's just as much exercise if not more than diet

try kai greene's ab routine, it works pretty well for me and it should for you too

x30 crunches
x20 side crunches without moving leg and then 10 with moving leg
x20-25 leg raises
x20 elbow to knee alternating crunches

2-3 rounds, and then at the end do about 20-30 back crunches and stretch your lower back

i can guarantee within around a week or two you'll notice a difference

We know about plugs, and their efficacy is without question, theoretically and anecdotally proven beyond doubt.
But what about lifting chastity belt? I have been using it with good results. Keeping the blood out gives more resources to the rest of the body.

Guys I read the sticky and it was just too much to take in and I'm really confused.

I just want to be a trap.

I understand some of the basic diet stuff for traps, no red meat, avoid high carbs, lots of dark greens. Is there anything specific?

Also other than "do cardio" what exercises should I do? I'm clueless because the sticky just seemed like a ton of word vomit when it came to exercising.

Also I like swimming a lot. Could that be a good way to help burn fat?

Minimal muscle gain, max fat loss. I want to drop about 60lbs.

Noob here who only has a Planet Fitness in town so I do a dumbbell full-body home workout, I wanted to post my routine to get it torn apart. I'm 5' 10", 150 and I work out 5-6 days a week depending on my schedule.


I've changed it through my own personal research about 15 times, and I think it's good now but I know I can always learn more. I've been doing it for about 4 months, and I have definitely started looking better. My weight has stayed the same though, possibly gained 5 pounds, but my scale is really inconsistent and maybe broken.


I also want to get an EZ bar and plates for the workouts I know everyone will recommend, but I don't have room in my apartment nor the money.


Here's my routine (slash indicates superset):
(12/10/8 reps for all workouts)


3x15 Standing Ab Roller
Perfect Push-Ups 20/15/Max
Dips 10x3


Dumbbell: 30 pounds each
Front Raise/Calf Raise
Squat/Barbell Curl
Skullcrusher/Bench Flies


Dumbbell: 40 Pounds each
Lateral Raise/Wide Row
Wrist Curls (Up and down)/Tricep Extension
Shoulder Press
Concentration Curls


Dumbbell: 50 pounds each
Bench Press
Pullovers


Dumbbell: 60 pounds each
Farmers Walk 3x1:00
Standing Ab roller 3x15

The weight jumps are just based on my max for those certain exercises. What's wrong with those weights? My progression is about 5 pounds for each step every two weeks.

I wish steroids were legal in my country. I love lifting weights but it's utterly depressing knowing how much I'm being artificially limited by my own body's ability to recover and grow.

I also love the aesthetic aspect of weight training but it's highly unrealistic to reach and maintain my goals without steroids. There's a reason every bodybuilder and aspiring one is on gear.

There's also all the pro athletes that successfully resuscitate their careers in their 30's wirh roids and i'll never be able to.

Alas, I will never make concessions with illegal substances from questionable sources so spare me the routine I've heard it all. It frustrates me that we will never have adequate steroid research done due to its illegality. I just want to enjoy what I love and I will never be able to.

We're not gonna make it.
