I'm at a crossroads here. I'm moving to another state and am going to join a gym. There's a gym with coaches who do a powerlifting program, and there's a gym with coaches who specialize in olympic lifts.
I'm interested in both, but money will only allow me to choose one. I want to do a coached program, so these two are my options.
Both are certified respectively, the powerlifting gym by the USPA and the oly lift gym by USA weightlifting.
Which route would YOU take and why? I have been lifting for 5 months now-- so noob gains/dyel. I am leaning towards the gym that specializes in oly lifts, but I also am interested in powerlifting. Help.

You, your aesthetics and your strenght will miss the bench and the deadlift. In addition olympic weightlifting is slighly more injury prone.

The powerlifting gym was less expensive, so that was a pro of that choice. I'm a 5'6 grill, 133lbs-- if it makes a difference. I wanted to do oly lifts, but I know I will miss other lifts if I'm only doing cleans and jerks, and snatches all day. Still debating between the two.

I had seizures during my teens and early twenties and the doctors couldn't find out what it was. I also ate vegan at the time. At 22 I started eating fish and dairy, and noticed my seizures got less frequent, from 10-30 a month to maybe 2-4. After 8 months the seizures stopped completely and never came back (the last 4 of the 8 months I only had 2 seizures).
I feel like my diet had a lot to do with the whole thing since I also felt a lot stronger and less tired after I stopped being vegan. I know keto is recommended against epilepsy, but not why. Are there any dietician fags here who can help me understand what happened? Did I have a deficiency that could cause seizures or something similar? Could it related to carb/sugar intake or insulin (since keto works)? My diet had a lot less carbs than before, and more protein. My fat intake is mostly the same. I feel tempted to try going vegan again to see if the seizures come back but they are painful and I want to avoid it if I can. Still, the change is so drastic that I feel the need for an explanation.
