Try to mess it up a bit. I throw in one day where I don't follow a routine each week. Be it use cards or a die to determine what I'm doing. Just something to keep me from getting too bored.

I've only been recently thinking about this, is this even safe? Pushing my body and forcing it to lift max 3 times a week? I eat properly, get enough sleep. But always find on my last workout (Friday) everything is heavier and it feels like I'm punishing my body.
I've been recently thinking about doing 2 max lift days, and on Friday only doing about 60% of my max, is this fine to do?
Unless you weigh 200kg those lifts are beyond intermediate which is beyond the scope of Starting Strength

I'm not sure about PPL programming, but maybe you are using too many sets at too high a weight. Eg. doing 70% for 5, then 75%, then 80%, then 85% instead of 65% for 5, 75%, 85% etc.

Listen up, double PPL is great, but it drains you out about 3 months in and you get overtrained.
Have a cycle, do 2 months PPLxPPLx and then a month of PxPxLxx.
If you are not a begginer you should not even do double PPL, workout only 3 or 4 times a week and still make gains, maybe even more gains.

I applied for the fire service at around 20, didn't get in. If you look on your councils website it should give you dates for the recruitment drive. Application is usually online and open to anyone.
I wouldn't keep your hopes up though, around 1000 people applied when I did. I managed to get down to the final 40 applicants but got no further. Apparently a lot of it is to do with racial diversity and opportunities etc, they have to be seen to take people from all backgrounds.
