How serious is it? I need 1-2 beers after work...
>>38770734
>need
Then get help.
I had a few beers last night, woke up and wtf I have a vagina now
You don't "need" it. Find another relaxant, generally it's a habitual thing as opposed to any sort of biological necessity. I used to drink whiskey every night before bed before I started lifting, now I eat an apple and drink ginger tea. It's just forcing yourself out of it.

Proper nutrition always comes first, regardless to what your goals are.
"Enough sleep" varies, but you should always aim for 6-8 hours, there is no "b-but" or skipping out on this.
Workout technique/intensity varies based on goals. You technically don't need any if you just want to lose weight, as diet is more important for that. If you want to run long distance, you don't NEED high intensity, you can simply continue to run and run and run, as is your goal.

Hello today was the first time at the gym, the instructor was late (and did never show up) and the receptionist just said just do these exercises:
Seated Cable Rows 4 x15
Wide-Grip Lat Pulldown 4x15
Wide grip lat pulldown behind neck 4x15
Lying Leg Curls 4 x15
Leg Press 4x15
Leg extensions 4x15
I have to do this 5 days a week, then after 10 days the instructor will set a proper routine for me.
I feel like that beginner routine is lacking something and i don't know what, also i'm not sure i would endure 5 days a week since i'm a couch potato. Any advice? Thank you in advance
>>38770602
Fuck the receptionist routine and read the sticky bro . If your serious
Also i'm a manlet 1.70 M (7 Feet 7 inches) tall, and i weight 81.5 KG (179.6767 Lb)
>>38770627
So i would tell them to fuck off and just do the sticky routines until i get proper attention? (the bitch even assumed i knew how to properly execute every exercise )
>>38770640
>manlet
>7'7"
???
Anyway that learning routine sounds pretty excessive at least for easy shit like leg presses, weight is more important than the number of reps in my uneducated opinion.
Does Ronaldo lift or is this all from on field training?
Of course he lifts he's a fucking world class player lmao
sprints
Alright /fit/, since this is also a health board, how do I get to sleep at night? I've tried everything but prescription sleep medication at this point. Melatonin, Valerian root, doxylamine, Diphenhydramine, none of that works. At this point, I've just been doing shots of 100 proof vodka to sleep at night and it's killing my gains, what do I do /fit/? Anyone else experience anything like this? Anyone have any remedies?

might wanna go see a therapist desu senpai
just do cardio you stupid fuck
Drink myself to sleep
When I'm doing pull ups with any grip I can't go into dead hangs because I get shoulder pain. As of now I can do 3x7 BW pullups neutral grip, maybe a big more chinups rested and probably a bit less pullups with overhand grip. But I don't go into dead hangs. Should I get to the point where I can do 4x12 BW overhand pullups before working on the full range of motion? Because if I try and do dead hangs then not only my shoulder hurts but the rep numbers are significantly lower since it tires the shit out of me.
Pic unrelated
>>38770391
Figure out why your shoulders are in pain and rectify it. Is your form off, do you overwork them, was it a past injury, etc
>>38770404
never been injured in the past, my form is good generally and I do PPLxPPLx so they could be a little tired from benching, however I only get pain as I extend my arm up and as the palm faces away from me I rotate it to face towards my other hand. Hope that makes sense. Even as I write this right now and I do this motion I can hear something going on.
Most people get this, /fit/ and the majority of weight lifters don't realise how much shoulder flexibility and scapular retraction you need to be able to dead hang comfortably. It's not an easy rom to enter much less pull from. Do more rows with emphasis on activating the mid back and setting the scapular, do rc work and serratus isolation where you can as well. I guarantee most intermediate lifters who have never focused on shoulder health and function can't dead hang comfortably
i wanna get fit but i don't know what food to buy during my lunch break. any suggestions? i don't have the time to make/pack lunch.
>>38770344
You dont have the time to get fit then.
Go neck yourself.
>>38770362
alrighty. thanks man.
>>38770344
Just get up 10 minutes earlier and you can prepare your lunch you lazy fuck.
Anyway get a salad without any dressing or other shit that adds lots of calories since I am pretty sure you're overweight.

People with shit backs - how did you fix your back?
I can't get my lats working at all. Not in isolation exercises nor in compounds. I don't think I've ever had my lats pumped full of blood and I've trained for years. Like I legit can't flex them or move them properly if I try, right now. I feel so fucking dumb. I 'flex' my lats I feel my chest and rear deltoid tensing up.
Only exercise where I feel them working is when I do lat pulldown with a extremely pronounced chest, but that's just one of my exercises for back and without straps arms give away first.
I read various guides on activating latissimus dorsi and videos by trainers showcasing them but all I feel are rear deltoids, traps, and triceps when I do these exercises or activation exercises.
I guess I should visit some physiotherapist to see if I have something weird going on my shoulder line.

assisted pullups, pull from the armpit.
Done deal
I started lifting (again) a year ago at the age of 25 after totally ignoring my health and all physical activity for 3 years.
The difference in my physique was to be expected but what I found more interesting were the effects of testosterone I wouldn't have believed could take place at this age.
- My voice has gotten lower
It was never squeaky (multiple people have even gone as far as saying I'd have a good radio voice) but now it's lower. Still nothing out of the ordinary but I can definitely hear the difference myself.
- My beard has started growing quicker.
I now have to shave every day. Used to be I could shave every 2-3 days and it'd look fine. Now I even get a 5 o'clock shadow.
It's pretty crazy that unless it's a huge coincidence a little lifting could do these things even in my mid-twenties. Like a second puberty.
>for 3 years
maybe this would have happend either with or without lifting.
>>38770684
no I've been lifting for 1 year (25->26). before that I was a lazy fuck for 3 years (22->25). before that I played sports and practice included weight training.
>>38769863
I've noticed that since lifting, bulking, and sleeping better,y besrd grows in faster and thick as fuck. I swear that my voice has dropped too
