So I am in the process of joining the Coast guard. I just want to be a cook, but I still need to do boot camp. I know most of boot camp is running, push-ups, and sit ups. Does anyone know of any good routines to prepare me for this?

Also, what weight training can I do to increase performance with pushups/sit-ups?

even more protip: do a ton of cardio and push ups. by the time i left i had the 1.5 in about 10 mins and had about 80-90 push ups non stop (prolly 2 mins)

its all an act btw, the CCs dont really hate you and even if you do things perfect you are still gonna get smoked. its there job.
think of basic training like a retarded fatcamp and youll get by just fine.

Why do you think the FS hated their jobs? Did any of them want to do food service, or just saw dollar signs and signed on?

My understanding is most FS have zero experience in food and just want to do what they think is easy. I have a culinary degree and 10 years of food service under my belt.

Dear /fit/,
I may succeed in taking another step towards making it today, but I need your help.
My bro has invited me to a birthday party for a grill, there will be lots of grills there obviously.
I've been lifting for over a year and gained many pounds.

But more importantly, I'm gonna set a new bench PR as soon as I get off work.
I'm hitting chest, shoulders and tris today and need some good pumping music.

I don't want lift anything heavier than 20kg and it has to be a kettlebell because barbells are for women. I also don't wanna go to gym because paying 50€/month just to grow your bunda seems kinda stupid imhotep. Also, I can't do pullups. What else can I do except pushups? Thanks.

I don't really do anything anymore apart from shut post on 4chan. I don't even have the patience to sit through tv, animu or even a book anymore.

I don't even know what to do anymore. It takes me around 2 hours every night to piss out everything. For example if I'm ready to sleep at 11pm I will be done at best at 1am. it's honestly true though, albeit it's useless advice for someone with more severe social anxiety

the gist is the same though - the modern psychological/therapeutic approach will also have you talk to people more and more in order to overcome social anxiety and develop social skills

what i've noticed is that for a lot of us sociability and our level of comfort in social situations is quite perishable if it's not constantly used - much like lifting gains

for example i'm very well adjusted and very sociable but if i've isolated myself completely for a week during finals i will literally emerge as a bumbling anxious wreck

the solution is literally to push yourself and be more and more around people

for either purpose having a part time job as a cashier or clerk or whatever is pretty fantastic

stop spreading shit like this to demotivate the people here who have every possibility to be completely normal
