So I'm trying to decide if I should get a gym membership or just buy some equipment and work out at home in my garage. I want to start with the stronglifts 5x5 program, here's link:

Could I get away with just buying a bar, some weights and a bench to start doing this routine? Do I have to have a squat rack? Am I going to fuck myself up without one?

It's good if you need a break from running, especially if you have a bad knee or ankle or something.

However, you have to actually be pushing yourself. A leisure row is basically the same thing as putting the elliptical setting on minimum and cracking open a book for an hour. It won't do shit.

His only hobbies are lifting weights and browsing the fitness section of some sort of Nepalese insect collecting forum, posting pictures of a cartoon toad and his bedroom is filled with posters of some arabic male model. Also, the more I talk to him the more I think he honestly has Asperger or something like that, when I asked him to go to the movies with me he just paralyzed and mumbled t-t-thank you then he suddenly hung up the phone.. I dont know what to think...

Hi /fit. Running SS on a cut since i have 10kg(22lbs) to lose. Lifts have stalled like this (3x5)
OHP 40kg
Bench 60kg
Squat 90kg
Deadlift 100kg

When was your first stall and what did u do?

Also my abs seem to be weak. Should I bother with core work or just do SS and focus on core later?

You need to go on walks and eat correctly. The eating correctly being the more important. Running will fuck you up at the weight you're at. Read the sticky about diet and do stuff that makes you out of breath for at least 20 min. But do it EVERYDAY no cheat days. You can fix this. Your stretch marks and loose skin will take surgery though. I care for you senpai. Take care of your self.

Anyone dealt with knee pain during squats and such? I've started getting it recently and it's really fucking my lower workouts.

The weird thing is, it starts flaring up when I'm warming up, but if I push through it and do some heavy squat sets it seems to subside. However I don't want to keep doing this as it'll no doubt make the problem worse.

Any experience or tips? going to see a physio soon.
