No. Unless you're a pro athlete then white rice is just as fine. It has a higher GI and lower fibre content but on the grand scheme of things its a billion times better for you than a pizza so chill out. Personally I like the nutty flavour and texture of wholegrain with dishes like chili but prefer white/basmati/pilau with curries.

I got a hypothetical scenario (not hypothetical at all, read on) suppose a person spends a year lifting at the gym and takes protein shake to complement. Suppose this person has rather bad eating habits (mixing pasta with rice and eating a lot of bread and crackers). The person is rather fit, has bulked up (lost weight and gained muscle mass, toning). Now what if the person stops working out and stops drinking the shake while still eating rather poorly? Will all the gains become fat?

I ask this because I see someone do this every other year of their life. It's kind of a bad cycle. Every time my friend stops working out and proteining shaking up, he gains 10-12 kilos and becomes a fat slob. And it happens so quickly that it is quite unbelievable. What's going on? Is this the fault of the shake?

if you both squat 200kg, both of you 5 rep max is 180kg, but you preform 180kg x3 way faster than him than prob yes

if you only train to do low reps, you'll be better at low reps than high reps. it dosent necessarily mean that your fibers are a certain way.

I think there is a test that use your X% of your 1RM, and the more reps you can do with that X% the more endurance you have.

I usually have huge food binges while watching my daily movie

But now that I'm on a diet I can't eat 5 burgers and 3 fries and a curry and rice and two big packets of gummy sweets and half a cake or whatever else I fancy

But I just feel so bored sitting there watching a movie without eating anything.

What can I do? Drink tea? Tea will last only 10 minutes maximum, and then what do I do

I really feel like eating a packet of haribos right now and watch a film but I can't even have one packet while I'm dieting.

I've reached a plateau, I'm not seeing any progress, I split chest and back, push and pull days and perform accessory lifts targeting triceps, biceps and shoulders.
My muscles are sore, I get 7-8 hours of sleep a night but I'm seeing no progress.

I eat 5 times a day in 3 hour intervals, when I increase calories or carbs I just gain weight but my arms stay the same. So what the fuck?
