Yes. SS is pretty good at giving you a good starting foundation for lifting. If you are new you will benifit and grow much faster with a good general strength base. It's pretty much perfect for people who are getting into lifting. Do not start with some shit bodybuilding routine. You'll progress so slowly due to being new to lifting youll prolly give up after a few months. Don't hesitate to add in some shoulder and bicep isolation stuff though if you do SS.

I was. But I kept focusing on the fact that I was happy before, so I constantly knew I could be there again. So I actively worked towards not being a sad sack and in around a year I overcame it. If I kept wallowing in my own shit I'd still be depressed I'm sure
