I keep getting mixed opinions about protein. Some say you should eat 2 grams of protein for every kilo in your body, others say 1 gram.
I try to stick to something in between, without counting exactly. I use protein shakes but not all the time, mostly if I'm not having meat that day. Protein shakes vary a lot, some are downright scam products with only 15% of protein for 100 grams of the stuff. I read that a good shake should have 75% protein for 100 grams. The best one I have is 50%, another is 15% (was bought for me as a gift, both, in fact).
We're all in agreement that the "window" is a myth, right? The idea that you only have an hour or 30 minutes to eat protein to build muscle mass. What I believe now is that you get 3 days in which your body will synthetise protein into muscle, roughly, and maybe your body does it more efficiently the first day and then less and less.

As an act of devotion I've once done one for 48 hours, food and water. After 36-38 hours I kind of stopped feeling hungry and thirsty. As long as I kept the top of my tongue wet I was okay. It was surreal.
