How long did it take you to stall on SS? I think I just did and now I have to look for something else. I'm eating 500 over my TDEE and I'm sleeping for almost 10 hours per night so that's not the problem.

Here are my lifts (5'8" and around 74 kg):
110 kg Squat
55 OHP
80 Bench
120 Deadlift

Failed on last squat set twice now, OHP feels like it's going backwards (was able to do 57.5x3x4 but for the past 2 weeks I struggle with 55x3x5. Had to do 50x3x5 today), stuck on bench for 2 weeks now. Maybe DL is the only thing I can increase some more but I feel that my overhand grip is slowly becoming the limiting factor in it.

Would Texas Method + PPL for hypertrophy after compounds be too much volume? I want to do something that will steadily progress my compounds while at the same time improve my looks.

I got introduced to the gym

the gym staff told me to use machines because they're beter and to work out more than an hour at a time because the strain causes best gains

99% of trainers are DYELS that know jack Shit about what they're talking about.
I bet that "trainer" can't even squat 225 and probably looks like Shit compared to anyone that actually lifts.
Get on a good linear progression free weight program.
Most people on here recommend starting strength, I recommend Greyskull LP and another option would be Stronglifts 5x5.
Also make sure to get enough sleep and to get your nutrition in check. Read the sticky on this board for that.
For form I would recommend you to watch some YouTube videos and Google Gregg Nuckols guides for the squat, deadlift and bench press.

By the way machines are alright of you use them for assistance work. The problem with them is that you are using less stabilizers and that you can't adapt your form. On the bench press you can try out a few different grip widths and bar paths for instance to optimize the movement, on the chest press machine you can't do that obviously.

In terms of gains, free weights are more efficient.

Lifting more than 3x is fine, ONLY when you're on a split. if your routine is full body, 3x nonconservative is your max (light cardio on off days is fine)

certified bigguy© at my gym heralded bottom position bench presses with a thick bar or fat grips is his go to movement for upper body power and size. ive seen him handle 345 in the movement. does anyone on /fit have experience with bottom position presses of thick bar presses?
