I never seriously trained pullups until this year and started because of some shoulder imbalances.
Started out very pathetic but now able to hit about 19-20 before I can't do more in 1 set. Wondering if the rest of /fit/ trains pullups or if I was just a retard.

This time you kept eye contact. Good. Next time you smile before engaging autismode. When you're able to do that you work on saying hi and introduce yourself before spilling your spaghetti and so on. If you see these things as small goals and don't expect anything more than reaching your tiny goal then it's much easier.

I went from 60kg to 63 kg in 5 months by eating oats with whey and olive oil for breakfast and some Greek yoghurt with a bit of fruit and walnuts before going to sleep. So a tip is try to find something you enjoy/can bear to eat that is high in energy and eat before going to bed/ add an extra meal. You only need to increase your energy intake by a few hundred kcal to increase in size.

Hello /fit/ as usual I'm trying to lose weight because I want to kill myself, I've been doing 40 minutes on the treadmill every day since September and so far I've lost 8 kilos (125/117kg or 275/257 in pounds) and eating about 1700 calories a day. My problem is that I only have 10 pound weights to use for lifting, I refuse to go to the gym because there's no fucking way I could work out in front of random people until I lose at least a little more weight by myself, it's just not happening. All that's happened so far is that my arms are converting the fat into muscle, they're not really getting bigger. So I just want to get your input on what would happen if I just kept using these tiny shit weights for now, my priority is just to stop being a fatass first and foremost, which is why I'm so focused on cardio.
And I guess I need to include a cbt as well, I look dreadful but imagine this with an extra 8 kilos of lard. What it comes down to is am I ok to just completely focus on weight loss until I'm happy going to the gym for muscle gain?

Hey /fit/, I'm still kind of a noob dyel but I am following Greyskull LP and it's going pretty well but today the only bench press (shitty commercial gym) was taken by 3 retards that did supersets and I didn't want to mess up my routine so I did DB bench press instead (not incline/decline).
My question is, if I ever need to do this again, would that still improve my bench press strength? Does it target most of the same muscles?

you can build strength with any movement that has sufficient range of motion and mechanical tension and hits the right muscles

heavy sets of 5 or less are most specific to strength, and doing sets like that is very difficult with dumbbells (at that point trying to stay balanced and get the DBs into position is harder than the actual set)
so yes for maximal strength BB bench is better, but that isn't to say that DB bench is only for looks
as long as you progressively overload in a reasonable rep range you will get stronger
