I have a question for you. My social environment is pretty drink-heavy. It's the social standard and go-to activity. You could say it's the basis of the german student life (in german fraternities).
How do I go about mitigating the damage of alcohol consumption. I know I could just not drink at all and would eventually accepted but that's not even really what I want. Sometimes it's nice to have a drink. Or two. Or a Kanne.
Where's the middle-ground? What are your experiences with social pressure to drink?

Simple, I don't let someone else decide for me what I'm going to do, and drink at my own pace.

What to do if your parents are gains goblins?

For most of my life, I've had poor posture. With rounded and forward shoulders, I never really spent the time to correct it. Then I grew up.
When I consciously keep my shoulder girdle inline with my neck, my right arm shows signs of poor circulation, and I think its caused by pic related.
Anybody have an experience with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, or have any advice for correcting it?
Having an arm that isn't getting much blood during a deadlift or carrying groceries the way they're supposed to be carried is probably what is holding me back.

Go and see your doctor and get PT referral if in the US. PT is basically about shoulder girdle position, but you just won't have the skills to fix it alone. There is surgery for it for extreme cases, but the surgery pokes around in dodgy areas of your anatomy and there are only really case studies supporting it, so take any future surgical recommendation with caution.
I too am trying to adjust my posture after living with poor posture most of my life. When I adjust my shoulders I can feel the lack of circulation in my arms and hands too, sometimes tingling. I now thing I have TOS after reading this thread. Wtf...

Take a wider stance and angle your knees more more outwards to "shorten" your femurs distance wise. atg is a meme and only applicable when you have short femurs and a long torso.
Look at Lu Xiaojun, this guy is made to squat. No amount of dorsiflexion will ever enable you to deep squat if you have long ass legs relative to your torso

I lifted 4x a week for basically 2 years straight, hitting some pretty good numbers squat/bench/dl 172/120/190 all for sets of 5 (in kg). Two weeks ago I went to lift on my usual tuesday routine and everything on my body hurt. I stopped and took the rest of the week off figuring that I needed a break. Started up last week, deloading 10-15% on all my lifts and everything still hurt.
Lifting now and I can barely squat 80% of what I was doing just a month ago. What the hell is happening? My gains are literally disappearing and I feel entirely weak and fragile. Never had this happen before, I've been sore and lifted through it, been tired and lifting through being sick with the flu, but nothing this debilitating.
I'm 24, 6'2 and about 200lbs. I have some health issues but nothing keeping me from lifting in the past. Is this usual/has this happened to anyone else here? Not sure what to do, squatting just hurts everything in my body. Do I push through the pain or take longer off (maybe a month or more?). Might just call it quits for the rest of the year and then start up in 2017 again if this continues.
Any similar experiences?
