I know this feel so fucking well man. Like holy shit, my mom had great Italian genes, all of her family is tall as fuark (some are even 6'4), she's the shortest of the family and she's 5'7. My dad is fucking 5'6, has shitskin southamerican genes and the shortest member of his family is 5'2 (JUST). I started puberty late (was 5'2 until 16, now I'm 18 and about 5'7) and I'm fucking praying everyday that I grow atleast to 5'10. Then don't do that. Keep it consistent, and just make sure to stay above your TDEE. It doesn't matter if you're only able to stay 100 or 200 calories above it.
Even if you don't have an appetite, eat something. There's really not anything else you can do.

Oats have more protein and fiber and are generally better nutritionally, but grits aren't devoid of nutrients or anything.
I also enjoy grits, and I always keep them on hand along with oats. I cook mine in 1/2 water 1/2 milk, load them with butter and salt about 3/4 of the way through cooking, then grate some cheddar over them right as I take them off the stove. You can make them runny and serve them in a bowl, but I prefer to make them thicker so I can serve them on a plate alongside some fried eggs and fried green onions. I mix the onions into the grits when I plate everything.

The naturally fat guys with robust, wide bones and some masculine traits but are usually invisible to girls because of no aesthetics. These guys need to eat sub 1500 to finally see signs of weight loss.
The ecto/skinny fat guys primarily characterised by horrific bone width; whether it's their wrists, palates, skulls, IPD - it's all so narrow. They struggle to gain muscle and if they stop lifting it will disappear within days.
Then the mesos who have good bones, naturally lean and muscular, universally dimorphic and guaranteed to be extrovert after a life of physically dominating everyone and of course being good looking.
This is determined from birth, no amount of "hard work" will change it. Biology does not recognise acts.
