never have i had a person i thought of dearly pass away in my recent memory so this is the first time i really had to deal with a death...

Just need to keep on moving on, things get easier.
Have had two of my closest friends die, one of them a suicide.
Things can be hard sometimes, and I do miss some sleep even after some years, but things get better if you keep trying.

A good anolgy is that you have a wound. and you put a bandage on it. The next morning you wake up and wash out that wound and it hurts and you re bandage it. You do that every dya until youre left with a scar and then you learn to care for that scar. You're not trying to go back to the man you were before. This is absolute torture, I'm sorry. Mine lasted like 4 months and then just this last month it started to fade.

It's weird, but it's kind of a relief to just not care anymore. Either my heart finally accepted what my brain knew all along (that it was never meant to be) or I just got exhausted of wanting and caring so much about somebody that didn't care about me.

I finally feel free but at the same time disappointed that I invested so much feeling and time only to get nothing in return.

Hey, first time in /fit/, just started going to the gym for the first time in my life and cutting out most carbs just eating meat and vegetables. Need to loose about 15 pounds but also want to tone the muscle. I have been on the gym about 1 1/2 weeks but I don't really know what machines should I go for to get /fit/. I'd appreciate any help

The only machines you should use are:

Treadmill
Stationary bicycle
Elliptical machine

Weight lifting burns almost no calories per hour compared to above

But augmenting cardio with some free weight training would improve your ability to retain muscle while cutting as long as you are eating appropriately

I do 15 mins of stationary bike before hitting the weights and lift as much as I can so that I am sweating and exausted at the end of session, which takes about 1 hour.

I love food and eating. I count calories and go way over every day anyways
The scale is stuck and I'm afraid I'll always be living in this body. I wish there was an eating plan I could stick to that outlined food that is allowed and calories to stay below. I need fuckin help

how do you keep being motivated to stay /fit/?

I usually get on a groove of doing exercises and eating well for about a week then get unmotivated and go back to sitting all day and eating pizza for the rest of the month.

I have a shoulder injury that never was healed correctly and my wrists tend to have some fairly significant pain when I bench near my max. I just saw an Athlean-x video where he recommends a reverse grip bench press to replace the regular bench. I was wondering if that was a retarded idea or not? I would probably deload a decent amount to be safe but to me it would make sense that it'd be good for folks in my position. I was wondering if I could do this for OHP as well? With OHP the only thing that bothers me is the wrists, my shoulder feels fine. Thoughts?

no because dumbell requires more stabilizers and is infact harder at lower weight, BUT you won't be constricted to a fixed ROM like on a bar so you can compensate for your limited shoulder mobility

I have been lifting for 8ish months and have been doing ChestxBackxShouldersxLegsxUpperbody then two days of rest. Should I switch over to 5x5? My only worry is that my lifts won't go up and or that I won't work my chest and arms enough for them to grow.

How long does it take to get better at running? I just ran 3 miles in 30 minutes and I want to bring it down to 6-7 minutes per mile. If I stick at it, could I reach this by summer?

gradually increase distance and as your stamina goes up, you can increase speed too
also set a feasible goal, there's a huge gap between doing 6 minutes per mile vs 7 minutes per mile
when I was in high school I ran XC for a year, I did my first 5k at 24 mins and when I finished the season I was at 18 mins
but that took a lot of work
