I'm fairly new to deadlifts and I'm feeling it primarily in my lower back. It doesn't hurt the way injuries do its just common muscle soreness you get when working a new muscle group.
Is this normal? I'm not in pain I just thought I'd feel it more in my legs than anything

If you are fairly new to deadlifts, chances are you are executing the lift with your back and not engaging your hips/glutes enough.
Try incorporating pull throughs in your routine, to learn how to engage and fire your glutes. Deadlifts should also give you doms in the glutes when performed correct.

To those of you that did SS or SL to completion, what were your numbers when you switched to an intermediate program?

Beginner on SL here.

It sorta depends on how much you weigh if you want to go by numbers. The general consensus is to switch when you plateaued and can't progress with the program anymore. However, if you want to go by numbers, I've been using the Symmetric Strength app and once I reach what it says is "intermediate" for the weight that I'm lifting I'll consider switching.

so should i be doing ass to grass or tits to floor? which is it?

edit i meant to say tits to tiles
>>
to rephrase should my torso be vertical so i can ass to grass like you all say? bc mark says it should be more like pic related
>>
If you're doing low bar squats, then you do a half squat and good mornings at the same time.

High bar squats = ass to grass
Low bar squats = tits to floor.

High bar squats is the real squat. Low bar squat is like deadlifting with the bar on your back.

fellow /fizzywater/ fan here aswell, I easily drink 2-2.5L a day. I don't study biology, but its part of my curriculum, so feel free to prove me wrong; From a biological point, technically, intaking carbon dioxide is bad for you because it overloads the left atrium of your heart (deoxygenated blood increase). HOWEVER, there is so little of it in carbonated water I don't think you should worry.

First off congratulations on losing the weight! It's hard to estimate your body fat because of loose skin but I'd say 13-14%.

I just finished a three month bulk and started my cut so there's not much to show. Here's my progress from the beginning of this year. I'm hoping to go a bit further this time to get my abs to pop.

Is this a good exersise or not? All I see is people doing it with a fraction of the range of motion of a squat but still with two or three plates more than they would an actual squat.

Does it target a specific part of your legs? I would almost assume so, but doesn't it put a lot of stress on your knees? I've never done leg presses for real but I'm a bit stuck on my squat and was considering leg press for some weak point training and general hypertrophy training to maybe get my squat up a little bit.

Bumping for interest, why do my knees hurt when I do leg press?
>>
>>39567223

Because it puts way too much stress on the knees.
>>
if you're stuck on the squat then the leg press isn't the answer. if your legs aren't big enough and you feel you need more leg hypertrophy training then I don't know wtf you're doing. most people complain about their legs growing too fast.

Hey /fit/, anyone know of a good way to deal with fatigue? Particularly in the morning? I need something that will give me energy, maybe something with caffeine and taurine, maybe some B vitamins. Ideally it would also have zero calories and zero sugar. Is that possible? Does anyone know of anything like that?
